I don't mind Boban. He does some good things. If he is brought back I won't be mad. I'd just like to see us get a little more athletic with our bigs. It is the way the NBA is going.
I'm guessing you missed the Thunder series... They were just BIGGER than us.

You can still get 7'ers with more mobility. Stop thinking so small. Having Boban doesn't help with their bigs. Adams pushes him around and Ibaka and Kanter run around him.

Duncan played like for most of the series and Adams was dominant because of it. He couldn't push off his left leg and was ragdolled because of it.

The drop off in talent even in Duncan's old age is pretty steep and Boban wasn't guaranteed to make an impact. He has incredible size and length, but he's constantly falling to the floor and is completely immobile like Tim.

Like other posters have said they need to bring in more athletic bigs to compliment LaMarcus and possibly Boban if he returns.

Shhhhh...the littleyacht thinks you only have to be tall.

heaven forbid we get a center with functional strength who doesn't fall down every other time down the court.

Actually, I take the news as Boban and the Spurs essentially having a contract in place so that he can play internationally. I'm hoping that means that it's for something that can fit inside the room exception (so something like a $2.8-Million deal with a player option for about $3.2 Million or so). If that's the case, then the Spurs can go into the off-season not having to worry about Boban affecting cap space and can still have $19 Million or so to chase guys (if they stretch Diaw) or more if they need to move some players. Or if they don't have the cap space, then they have Boban locked into the deal and can use the rest of the MLE on Bertans or maybe other second-rounders.

    One question man

Can the Spurs still bring LJC over in a rookie-scale deal ?

They can always choose to do it, but after three years (meaning starting this year) they can sign him as if he were a free agent. That's what happened with Splitter. I doubt the Spurs want to do that, and LJC doesn't have the leverage to ask for more

Boban Marjanovic will not play for Serbia in Olympic Qualifiers due to his NBA free agency. He hopes to join the NT for Rio 2016

Boban at center, Bertans puncturing the hoop, and Simmons as the wing could be terrifying, lol

assuming they all get better in the offseason

This ups the chance that Miluntinov will play in the Belgrade qualifiers.
Marjanovic is Serbia's 1st string center, Miluntinov is 4th string.

"First of all, the salary cap is exploding next season, probably by about $22 million. Making an $8 million annual commitment isn’t that big a deal. Second, Marjanovic showed a lot in his 9.4 minutes per game. He can become a full-time rotation member this fall."

Would we really want to pay him $8million? TBH I have no idea his worth or what we saw last year will really translate to for the Spurs.

No. Um...no. 4/32 is significantly overpaying, IMO.
