The NFL has the greatest ratio of "obese athletes" to positional players, and these "obese" athletes often win MVP awards (Defensive MVP) like fatasses Warren Sapp, Reggie White, Dana Stubblefied, Cortez Kennedy, etc.
The scrum is the equivalent of sumo wrestling to the point that linemen are force fed.

You got to get over the myth that a shredded physique translates into athleticism, playing a game in which running is 90% of the sport.
Beisbol where fat rolls are the norm & 90% of the game is standing stationary for 90% of the positional players.

It's the most fun sport to play, tbh..only thing I dislike is how short players aren't at a disadvantage like they are in all other sports
Maybe not in all cases (like Messi); but collectively they still are. If you look at the size difference between MLS players and Premier League team players, it is very telling.

    Ah.

    40 yard dash:

    Wilfork: 5.08 seconds

    Ronaldo's projected time: 4.64-4.73

Wilfork ran 5.08 from a sprinting stance after training specifically for it w/ a track coach.

You don't need to "project" Ronaldo's time, he has actually been timed for how fast he cover the entire pitch from a STANDING start during the run of the play:

    vs

Fatso getting run down with ease despite having a running start:

Just showing him that baseball isn't the only sport where a fat guy can be great. Pretty much every sport has had great fat players. Shaq ballooned up to nearly 400lbs in 2003 and was still an MVP candidate.
Shaq is the MOST ATHLETIC 7'1" / 350+ human to EVER grace the Earth & he still got sonned by Tim when he put on 30 lbs in his prime. (Only in Beisbol can a fringe All-Star player eat himself into obesity & still end up being the best player on a championship team)

And I also don't understand how soccer fans can disparage fat baseball players, football players, etc, when those guys are proven to be just as athletic if not more so
Talk about the kettle calling the pot black, typical yank starting BS then playing victim when it blows up in their face.

Ortiz cut, bro. It's why he's playing some of the best baseball of his career.

Ortiz had a pot belly when he was crushing pitches in the World Series:

    96m in 10 seconds

There's hard data on Ronaldo's top speed during match play, and 20.8 MPH is the fastest he's been recorded. Decent, but not really impressive for the supposed greatest soccer athlete (we're not talking skills here, btw) the world has ever seen. And still at that 30" running vert.

The 230lb Trout has reached a 21.8 mph, and this was wearing an un-aerodynamic helmet and heavy baseball cleats.

I love the spin job when I show you how fast, quick, and agile these "fatties" are.

"It's because they train for combine sprinting ."

Okay, fair enough. But the fact at 330lb obese fatass can train to the point where he's running 5.08 40s just further reinforces my point that fat=/=unathletic.

Specials teams members are used for practice squads & as emergency backups. They aren't some scrub batting below the Mendoza line who sits in the dug out chewing tobacco until the top of the 7th.
emergency backups is for when everyone else in injured. sounds about right. There are many who would never make a team if there were no special teams.

    What "playing the victim?"

You post erotic pictures of your "shredded" soccer stars, believing that physique somehow naturally translates into athleticism and then post fat baseball players or football players for comparison, naively believing they can't possibly be athletic because fat, and then I come along and show you fatass Prince Fielder (a favorite of the soccer crew) was actually just as fast as your hero Ronaldo, and then you start spinning.

if you want to talk stamina, fine. Fatness and weight, even excessive muscle weight, affects that more than anything else, but baseball and to an extent football aren't stamina centered sports, but you Yuros can't seem to comprehend that there are other forms of athletic excellence aside from running around a field for 90 minutes.

(I don't think you're Yuro, though. Probably a young hipster American who is in his anti-Baseball and anti-football phase . No Yuro would know what the Mendoza line is )

I've already showed you that isn't true by citing the height-weight average the MLB.

MLB players only have a 1.6 greater BMI than EPL players.

    And ^^^ it's actually true

BMI is for basic folks b/c it doesn't make a distinction b/w bone density/muscles mass/fat but the good news is that there is this thing called body fat index.

Baseball teams hand out stupid contracts all the time. So what?

CC's WAR over the past 4 seasons averages out to 0.5

    He's done.

For some real talk, he could've been an all-time great. 6'6" with all the stuff, and in shape in his younger days.

"Porker" won a single series MVP. Be real, son.

Only in America do folks get surprised that you know about other people's culture.

As if football isn't the most injury impacted sport. You have washed up players getting picked up mid-season & 40 year olds coming out of retirement b/c even the cats on the practice squad are injured.

Malcom Butler started the season as a practice squad player & made the most clutch defensive play in SB history:

The Mendoza Line is a pretty obscure factoid to know for someone who lives abroad that presumably hates baseball.

So Canada then? Or Northern Mexico?

Assuming I'm a redneck because I hate soccer.

I liked it once upon a time. Dennis Bergkamp was my favorite player as a kid, but when I grew more into a hardcore sports fan, soccer game's design started to turn me off more and more. As I said in my first post: Poor comeback factor, poor counter-punch dynamic, predictable scoring line variation, too many ties, minigame to decide winners, diving, more diving, fouls in the box are disproportionally awarded.

They actually have muscle mass. Rooney and the bodies like him don't

    Like I said, skinny fat.

And Ronaldo is carrying A LOT of muscle mass relative to his frame right now. He looks like a lightweight bodybuilder compared to even Kirby. So why isn't he cramping up?

Baseball players move their feet plenty, and when they do, they're proven to be faster than soccer players

Typical American who thinks Rooney is an all-time great b/c he plays for England/ManUre. (Bend it like Beckham:)

Ronaldo does upper-body weight training, he doesn't cramp up b/c his uses his lower extremities to do his job.

Excessive muscle mass in the legs can also cause cramping. More muscle mass=more oxygen required=more lactic acid build up.

Look at that . Ronaldo is built more like an NFL wide receiver than a soccer player. Messi has the ideal skinny fat build (see how he has no leg muscle definition) for the sport.

    Wtf are these? VHS tapes?

Back when they used to take steroids. Now they just look like ROTC nerds like that lil Bryce Harper
Stop it bro. The current most athletic baseball players are way more athletic than the most athletic soccer players. They're bigger, stronger, and faster. Majority of soccer players could barely hit the ball out of the infield meaning they're only valuable at a couple of positions on the field.

Let's be real bro, Kirby's fetus injections didn't help him out in the least. Dude still shot historically bad, so Germany didn't know what they were doing (or maybe Kirbs is just that bad )

As for Ruth. Directly transported from 1926, I don't see it. Pitchers have WAY nastier stuff now. 95mph sliders and 4 seamers that move all around the place.
Let's not forget that Ruth didn't even face all of the elite players in the game since blacks were banned from playing.

What about offensive lineman? They're specialized and the majority of them are grossly overweight.
