gave us that Warriors series. He's done his penitence.
Sounds like he retiring. Glad to see him go out on top.
If a has a ring..do you call it a cok ring?
Talking about Lebron James left arm not Richard Jefferson lol...
No thanks.....I read the Bible....God Bless you
He just retired. Great way to go out, congrats to him.
He was still athletic at his current age and got the most out of his body. I'm not going to hate on him for his failures with the Spurs. For some guys it takes failing a bunch of times before they finally come through and become a winner. RJ was persistent and eventually it paid off.
And all these years I thought he was a bottom.
I just watched his post game interview on NBATV and he said his teammates tried talking him out of it, but he said he was held together with duct tape and superglue. Said the past month of this NBA season was the most stressful of his life. Looks like he's had enough. He never really was one for the mental game. I guess I give him props for his persistence, but IMO he just didn't have much mental toughness for most of his career.
As for his time on the Spurs, after just watching him for about month on the team, I didn't really want him on the Spurs anymore. He lost me really quickly. I called it real early into his tenure here. A lot of people on various forums said I was an idiot and that he needed more time. Turns out I was right about him, and the FO and most fans took about a year and a half longer to figure that out.
I think he would have been a good pickup last season or the year before as a min-salary guy. He had played his best with Manu, so coming off the bench to be a shooter/finisher would have been helpful the past few years. Issue is that he sucked just a little too much in his time as a high-salary guy. Had he come on with Kawhi as a starter, I think he'd still be in SA.
I don't know if he'd say it, but the Spurs did a lot for him. They were the team that took him from being a star and help transition him toward becoming a role-player.
He played better than all the Spurs but Duncan when it mattered for his team.
still has the gayest tatoo in all of sports didn't he leave a chick at the altar a way back????
Good on RJ. JR too.
Congrats, . We always knew you had it in you
I definitely agree with everything you said. The Spurs wanted RJ to have a big role but he wasn't mentally strong enough or suited for that. I remember there was a game against Portland during the first month of the season he was here in which he played really well but the spurs still ended up losing by double digits. For some reason after that game I felt he wasn't the ideal fit.
And here's his lame private msg to me. Lmao!
He had a strong rebound late and knew where to throw the ball. Doubt if he goes ahead with retirement if Lebron wants him to stay.
Congrats and he certainly deserve credit for embracing his role, but really.........
Seriously, Mo Williams is also a ing NBA champion.![]()
