Kevin Durant has largely succeeded in keeping the chatter surrounding his impending free agency to a minimum. Durant will hit the open market for the first time in his career when the Oklahoma City Thunder's season is over, and the 27-year-old will be the most coveted player available by a mile.
With the league salary cap jumping from $70 million to $92 million, Durant will have no shortage of suitors who are just a few moves away from clearing max cap space. One of those teams will reportedly be the San Antonio Spurs.

San Antonio's interest in Durant was first reported by ESPN's Zach Lowe and corroborated by colleague Marc Stein on Friday. According to Stein, Durant could be on his way out of town if the Thunder are eliminated in the second round of the 2016 NBA playoffs ... by the Spurs.

Lamarcus Aldridge, Kawhi Leonard, Parker, Duncan and Durant? With Ginobili off the bench? OMG that would be sick

Seems like Durant and Leonard kind of overlap. Are you thinking Durant at the 2?

Durant and Leonard are mult talented and these days, position doesn't really matter. It's about putting the 5 best players on the court and fire away.

I just read a thread about getting Conley as well. So they would have a better playermaker at the point. So I suppose you're right about being able to move Leonard and Durant around.

I've heard rumors Marcus Aldridge might join us? Does anyone have an update on that?

It would be hilarious if op wss was just creating threads for every free agent available.

But nothing he does could be worse than the thread "Parker to Philly for Noel and also the second pick"

I'm getting tired of player fans, in particular Parker fans, ting on the Durant move just because they think Parker would lose some influence on the team and locker room.

spurs don't want kevin durant or his real MVP mom. Spurs need someone who can score in the 4th when it matters. Spurs would have the most unclutch teams in history with lma kl and kd. might as well trot out jefferson, bogans, bonner.

They can play together in both smallball with Kawhi playing 2, Durant 3 or Kawhi playing 3 and Durant 4 with LMA as 5. Offense, defense matchups, with minutes and shots distribution shouldn`t be a problem, since LMA and Kawhi already are taking less shots can could. Meeting with Durant should be around 2 thing - how much money, and how much from personal stats he could give up to win.

If we look at superstar movement over the past years, what do we see? Do we see them move to small market teams with limited inner city culture? Or do they go for the big cities where more money is available and other superstars tend to congregate, either by purchase/trades or free agency.

Do you think the Lakers or Clippers might be interested? How about the Knicks, Boston, Miami and Chicago? All of those teams could use a Durant and pay him both with salary and with outside business opportunities.
