sons I got home and watched the game. notes:

- ref that would get lynched in europe.
- both teams were undisciplined, ugly pointless tackles.
- missi missed penaldo ... this will remain on his legacy big time tbh.
- piguain missed 1v1 with the keeper smh sons
- rojo couldn't keep his cool in a ing final
- argentina played down to compe ion because they can't handle pressing teams, it's like their midfield is non-existent. I said the same thing at the last WC but my argie nigs don't want to hear none of that tbh.
- argentina is overrated imo, folded to easily 2 times in a row against the same style. a talented team but one that can't adapt.
- chile will get overrated now, they are a quite average side.

Ummmm Chile is definitely a top-3 squad right now. Their players all have speed, skill, power and stamina.

With the exception of Germany, and maybe Spain, there's not a single team I fear from Europe, tbh. 2nd tier Europeans are the easiest rivals for Argentina. They just sit back and wait for the inevitable to happen (Argentina winning sooner or later). They don't press, they don't counterattack, heck they don't even hit you. 2nd tier teams from South America are a lot harder for us, they play us without fear and if they need to get dirty they will do it.

I'll also say this: england/netherlands/croats could easily frustrate argentina. They can all defend with numbers and size and are lightning fast on the counter and argentina is vulnerable to their set pieces. So I wouldn't say that besides germany and spain it's a easier than uruguay/paraguay/chile. Imo you should look at this like matchups in basketball.

Ummmm Chile is definitely a top-3 squad right now. Their players all have speed, skill, power and stamina.

lol. they have good matchups in south america, which they have exploited expertly, but let them first at least reach a world cup semifinal before we start talking about top 3s. They would have trouble with the physicality of big euro size.. not saying that euros are so much better, just that they'd get tougher matchups than in SA.

And I see France as a sligthly less talented version of Argentina.

We are actually pretty strong in terms of physicality and set pieces, tbh. The entire defense is an aerial threat. Guys like Mercado and Funes Mori have a special knack for scoring.

I know we are talking about matchups, but what specific traits do you see on those teams to say Argentina would struggle? You first said that Argentina has problems with teams that press high and take possesion away and I agreed with that. But now you are saying these teams, that play a different style, would cause problems?

I know that you got some aerial threats but I think you could get outmuscled, that's what I was saying. Outmuscled on set pieces and outmuscled on quick counters. Let me explain: if france goes with an all african squad they are very tough to deal with in the air. They are big and they are athletic as , so that would obviously be a problem for just about every south american team. France can also play this game and be a counter attacking squad because they got some talent to go with that athleticism and quickness.
Italy on the other hand is a no s given s team who are as dirty as they come, and are dogs on set pieces. They also have a lot of quickness on the counter and are probablt the most frustrating tram to play against.

Normally strong counter attack teams aren't a problem as teams defend positionally, but given's argentina (lack of) midfield and soft mental stance I think they would have a reasonable chance to fold against such teams.

I'd still take argentina over france/italy at like 60-65% win rate tbh.

Defense is no longer a problem for Argentina, tbh. In fact, neither is midfield and forwards. Only problem now, is to finally deliver on the final.
