Wow, even with the inflation, that Evan Turner deal is painful to see

19 per year for a bad basketball player..

I don't think the offense is a big deal. Ian would score more than Duncan has been. And would have better against OKC.

Pau's scoring would be offset by his terrible defense. And diva demands for touches.

Imagine Ian on pick and roll defense instead of Duncan ... Spurs defense is even fiercer. Teams will be strangled.
I agree the defense would be stacked, but to me it's all net gain/loss. I think the defense was amazing last year and Gasol while not better than Tim at post defense does OK in that regard so I don't know if the defense would take a big step back. The offense, to me, would have the chance to step way forward though.

I wouldn't be mad at Ian at all. He's not "young" but younger than Gasol and you can fill other needs (scoring) next year easier than getting a good defensive C probably too. I see the appeal, but I do think SA needs offense more too. Especially at guard with TP/Manu/DG all limited scorers now and DG role not to "score".

Looks like Portland moved on from Parsons pretty quick.

Include that as well.. That'd give them enough room to get ready for a le run in 2 years.

Turner is actually a good fit with that backcourt in Portland. Terrible contract though.

    Ouch @ Turner.

Portland is going to wish they had Parsons.

Read on My San Antonio that The Spurs were guaranteeing the rest of Simmons contract.

Unless RC tells Manu, Tim and Parker to hit the bricks
Well, Tim and TP are under contract. So they can't.

"But we'd rather have Al Jefferson who's none of those things."
Vogel doesn't coach the Pacers anymore. He was fired and now coaches the Magic.

Woj corrected himself on Turner. He's only getting $70M, not $75M. So that changes everything.

Still too expensive, even with the inflation.

Maybe. But doesn't that depend on whether Holford bolts?

Dunno, but $14M a year is insane.
