Now we go after Pau Gasol and Matt Barnes. Leonard, Green, and Barnes is a nice trio to defend on the perimeter. Too bad we could't get Tony Allen as well, but I think he is still on the books in Memphis.

    C - Gasol, Duncan, Boban
    PF - Aldridge, Diaw, Bertans
    SF - Leonard, Barnes, Simmons
    SG - Green, Ginobili, Anderson
    PG - Parker, Mills, Murray

Presti's trade on draft night was as a good a job a GM can do in order to protect his team against the worst scenario.
Basically traded Durant/Ibaka for Dipo/Ersan/Sabonis. I mean, not much you can do if KD leaves but none of the players he got fills the SF void unfortunately.

They got depth back which is key, some young talent (Dipo/Sabonis), but a franchise changing blow.

They'll be compe ive but probably first or second round exit is their ceiling now.

So, would you rather have Bogut or Pau?
Gotta give something to the Warriors for Bogut as well. Plus you're facilitating their acquisition of Durant.

Westbrook is a free-agent next year and he is a pretty essential acquisition for us to be able to compete. When you have LMA and Green you need a freak pg like Westbrook to balance the offense.
Spurs have less of a chance to land Westbrook than we did Durant. Dude is chomping at the bit to get to the fashionista market in LA. But maybe he would go to the Clips instead Of the Lakers, and we could pick up Chris Paul.

This makes you appreciate real s like Tim and Kobe who never switched even when they had chances.
Golden State was already an unlikeable team but this puts them on a whole new level of gotry.
I am the only one on this board that said this before he signed anywhere. Said it about Pau, said it about Le , these guys are not champions, they plan in a watered down league, chase rings by jumping ship, yet all the "fans" will "forgive" them when they jump back. New era fans, new era players have no concept of legacy, loyalty, or rivalry.

Probably Pau, although I don't really think hes a good answer at this point in his career, but I'd probably take him over Bogut. I just don't want to pay over $20million for Pau which he has already been offered by the Blazers.

If the Spurs benefit, no problem. SOMEBODY will be the facilitator. We won't scuttle the acquisition of Durant by not doing a deal with the Dubs.

Bogut isn't even an option. If you have a slow footed big then they have to at least be a dominant offensive player. We don't have 4 offensive options running around for Bogut to not do anything but pass the ball.

Bogut did the same thing for the Warriors that Splitter did for the Spurs. The biggest problem is that he's not durable, and he recently went through the healthiest period of his career.

I hope he signs with the Blazers because they would have to dump some pieces that I would love to have on the Spurs. I am excited right now. With Durant's finally making his decision the dominoes will start to fall. This is what I think the Spurs have realistically been waiting for. Most stoopid money is spent, and now some interesting pieces will start getting let go.

    What a beta hypocrite

Nope. That was 6 years ago. People can and should change their perspective as they mature. He was young and confident (and foolish) then. 6 years have taught him how tough winning a le really is. He learned a tough lesson. Nothing hypocritical here. If you're a mature adult, you'll understand.

Please don't lump Kornbe in the same sentence as Tim in this situation. Why the WOULD Kobe have left?? He played for the media darling team in the NBA...the damn commissioner said the Lakers in any series was his dream matchup lol. Its pretty confirmed that his 2002 ring was a total gift courtesy of the league...thanks to playing for the lakers. Any "dark days" for Kobe were of HIS OWN DOING! He ran shaq and phil off and got exactly what he wanted...his own team. He couldn't do with it and ed and moaned and so Daddy West gifted him Pau and phil came back and the rest is history. He played for the team with the DEEPEST pockets in a city thats the most desirable to pro entertainers. Dude had it made in EVERY FACET...so please don't give him a loyalty label as if he's Tim or KG

This is the microcosm of this generation. Everyone shares, everyone gets along. Bernie Sanders, Europe, globalization, etc...The NBA is basically La Liga now and GSW is Barca...
