Minimum contract? He would still be under his current one imo if he returned.
Don't see why not.

Yeah, I don't see a single rule against it. You can definitely re-sign guys you waive.
Nope. He'd've been waived, which means the team terminated his contract.
Oh ok. Then yes, could be re-signed only by Spurs for one year (meaning not to another team i.e Jason Williams) since Spurs hold his rights.
I'd bet they encouraged Duncan to take the money either way. He took a few below market deals in his career. He deserved walking away money.
My guess is San Antonio had dozens of scenarios in place, with Tim occupying cap while still retiring as one of those. What I will be surprised about is, after deciding not to waive Diaw, the Spurs simply dump Boris for nothing in return. Although, I guess they save 2M by exercising their option and then dumping Diaw. And 2M is a big deal this year.
But, of course, if Duncan decides to play, then this stretch option goes out the window and we have to reboot all of our prognostications.
This offseason is complicated and damn entertaining.
Nah, the Spurs waiving him means they give up those rights. Essentially, they don't ask him if he wants to retire or not. They just cut him. Then if he wants to retire, he never takes another contract, files paperwork, whatever. If he wants to come back, he takes a minimum deal.
Can someone post what our team looks like ?
Su unless BK/Portland want to ass the Spurs the market for the Bobanator may be slim. If the Spurs can keep Boban on a reasonable deal it could be biggest break the Spurs get. Someone from the Spurs feeder system is going to need to step up and Boban's advanced metrics look promising.
Haha! Says the guy that won a championship on the first team to poach multiple prime superstars.
It's not like Celtics were a 73 win team before they got KG and Ray.
Watch this crap be some 4 year $40 million insanity making Ginobili lick his smackers
And this makes worlds more sense. But they really need to stop going back and forth. Bertans for $4-5 Million over three years sounds like a good plan for everyone.
Hope this doesn't completely destroy Diaw's already low market value.
Totally agree, but Pierce is the last guy to be selling sour grapes. I wish Bill Russell or Kareem actually used Twitter. Those guys can talk all the they want.
We're losing manu. He wants his last payday. No timmy, no manu, no durant. And of course, we keep Tony and kyle. If
the way teams are being assembled. i feel bad for ty teams who doesnt draft well![]()
Someone educate me on berthans, I know about the injuries, but what's his ceiling? Especially in the short term
It was the end of their prime. They weren't on contenders. They didn't join a team they couldn't defeat.
