This is what I have too. This is why I'd be surprised if Spurs did not bring back a rookie or min contract in Diaw dump.

Stretching Tim plus trading Diaw leaves Spurs enough space for Gasol, Boban at 5.6 plus a min/rookie deal coming back in deal.

What is surprising is that they didn't have this deal ready to go. Seems like they're looking for it now. Odd.

You know, running the numbers, I don't think the Spurs NEED to trade Diaw at all if they intend to stretch Tim. They should have JUST enough to complete this deal. That also means that stretching Tim and trading Diaw gives them about $7 Million they could use on bring in about big man (and hopefully not use on Manu's ass) or to retain Boban.

I do wonder, if in an effort to maximize every cent for next year if SA is just going to eat Tim's money this year. Would make sense if they feel they have to move Diaw to get Pau if that is the case.

Would love for Josh McRoberts to somehow get to the Spurs. He doesn't have Diaw's post game, but he's every bit the passer and is likely better at shooting and driving. He doesn't exactly fill a requirement for a backup center, but he could do a lot for the second unit, especially if Manu is gone.
