You'd have liked his jump shot. Looks a lot better.
You think that PATFO wants Simmons to be an off-the-ball player in SA? But it was his court vision and passing skill (in addition to his athleticism) that gained attention and praise to begin with. Doesn't that imply playing with the ball more than not? Tbh, I am having a harder and harder time envisioning what his niche is. Even though I once thought he was a near lock for Spurs TNG, I am starting to have doubts. In order to have a spot in the rotation and help the team, he will have to have a much better 3-point shot and be much more willing to take it than he continues to show - if his niche is off the ball.

How in the is averaging 30 minutes for 77 games resting for a 36 year old center?(While playing for a team fighting for its playoff lives, Dirk at 36 averaged 29.6 minutes & played 77 games without having to bang w/ centers)
All the bigs are ty & the perimeter players make Kyle/Simmons seem like Lebron/Wade.Main reason I was hoping to see some promising talent in these games, we don't have a lot of dough, as far as I understand, and some of these guys might end up being the filler that actually becomes our bench.
Jarnell Stokes is a talented big who isn't in the league b/c he's undersized & an average athlete but he can eat regular season minutes like Blair. Hopefully, PATFO pick him up after they dump Diaw.

A fair chunk of ST is going to have to eat crow as KA develops into a solid player.![]()
Anybody know what the ing holdup is on Dejounte's contract? I'd really like to see him play.
No they won't. They'll do the same thing they did with Cory Joseph: on him until he leaves and then say how stupid the Spurs are for letting him go.
No, she had a migraine and that was the outcome. She was fine afterwards.
The Spurs save about $200k by signing him after using their cap space, and Rich Paul won't let him play without a signed contract because he's an asshole.
Yes, change it! Put Pau in there!
Sad but true.
Why does that make him an asshole? If he played without a contract and then got injured, he'd be ed right?
I don't think so. First round picks have set salaries, right?
No. Teams don't screw over their guys that way, especially for how cheap they are.
Pau averaged nearly 35mpg a season ago (34 years old). And how about LMA? averaging 30mpg at 29 years old. Pop is just going to rest guys, sometimes he won't even play them for an entire game. That's all great when you a top bench in the league, but right now we're not looking all that pretty in that department. Obviously, the fact that 90% of the league sucks will help, but you just can't take that for granted.
That's what I'm saying, PATFO better start looking around, because there doesn't seem to be a lot of keepers here (albeit, there's some guys still to watch).
I don't know. So there are no negotiations?
Even so, if he hasn't signed a contract, I suppose they could still leave him hanging. Not that the Spurs would do that. But an agent is supposed to protect his players best interest.
I think if a team tried to do that they'd get smashed by both the league and the players union.
I hope so. I think it's the right time for him to confirm he's an NBA-caliber talent. Otherwise, the Spurs should just move on to another experiment.
You best bet LMA is going to be playing at least 33 minutes this season.![]()
Without Diaw, he's going to get as many touches as he wants. This is a lost season so might as well develop Kyle/Murray.
Well clearly his agent knows more about it than I do. I guess if there were no risk there'd be no reason to hold him back. I'm just super biased because summer league is my time, and I want to see him ing play.![]()
Same. I'm dying to see what he's got.![]()
I don't know what to tell you. I never saw him the way you saw him becasue I had seen a lot of him from before and I knew his ballhandling wasn't up to par to be a quasi PG. He played as a SF in the dleague off the ball. They started towards the end of his last season there to give him the ball and he was a TO machine. Literally ball pressure? equalled TO. He has improved. Believe you me, he was worse. But I thought last season and still think he was running out of time to improve that sufficiently to be the main ballhandler bc he's old. The offense if you saw it features a lot of cutting and PnR. I think Simmons will get handled the ball to run a PnR here or there, but he won't be a quasi PG.
The leader of that unit, if he ever achieves his potential is Anderson. I know ppl don't see it like I saw it... but Kyle has been punking fools at this rate for all his young career. You see him slow and you think he can't play then bam! First he's won the game, second you look at his stats and where is this stud? He was played off others and not ideally last season. I have been saying this before but ppl are tired of me at this point so whatever.
I think Simmons benefits from cuts off the ball out of post up players who can pass to him. We saw a lot of plays like this in the RS with Kawhi and even LMA. We saw Kyle and Andre Mille throw lobs to him. He's a monster in transition and in the open court. He has game. It's just not the Manu game. He can pass the basketball within the offense. But between me and you, Pop praised him a lot bc Simmons had major confidence issues.
Thanks for posting.
KA's stroke looks different (better) with a quicker release. That last 3 looked Kawhi-esque. Chip's been doing work.
Simmons looked the same as last SL.
Yeah thanks for this. Was wanting to watch the game. Is there somewhere other than NBA-TV where we can watch?
