Yeah thanks for this. Was wanting to watch the game. Is there somewhere other than NBA-TV where we can watch?

I hope so. I think it's the right time for him to confirm he's an NBA-caliber talent. Otherwise, the Spurs should just move on to another experiment.
He's not an experiment, KA's already confirmed he's an NBA talent. The only question is how good can he become. some team probably would have given him 5-8 million/yr this summer if he had been a free agent.

I don't think so. First round picks have set salaries, right?
First round picks can sign for as much as 120% and as little as 80% of the rookie scale...so there's some negotiation.

    Kyle Anderson:
    • Manure is holding this back. He also found his right place, playing against D-League scrubs

    Bryn Forbes:
    • Looks like Neal 2.0, if he keeps playing like this we might've found our third string SG.

    Jonathon Simmons:
    • Good as usual, need to see him with the ball on his hand more. Kyle needs to share.

    Erazem Lorbek:
    • What a waste of time this pussy is. Where the is Ndoye?

    Alex Kirk:
    • Really needs to change his profession. Worst player on the court.

    Ryan Arcidiacono:
    • Not that impressive, tbh.

I assumed there was some kind of participation agreement with the union like the NFL has. I guess with all the money being strewn about the place, they didn't bother to look out for a draft pick that blows out his knee in summer league.

He's improving. He's unlikely to ever start, but if he improves his shot might be a fine 7th guy some time soon. And he's cheap as chips. All the hate for a guy who was a 29th pick and doesn't even touch the cap is way overblown for mine.

There is room for negotiation, but not really. Players get the full 120 percent literally 99 percent of the time. The Spurs are pretty well known for not doing it, and that may be the case here. But Buford said it was a timing issue, which to me simply means that they are trying to use his hold rather than his real salary. That's standard and really shouldn't cause issues, but again, Paul is an asshole. He's not looking out for his player, seeing as the summer league is a League-sponsored activity and a team would absolutely be responsible if the player got injured.

What he's doing is creating an antagonistic relationship between the player and the team from jump street. That may make sense in some organizations, but the Spurs treat their players like family for the most part. Instead of coming off like the protective guardian he's supposed to be, Paul is coming off like a girlfriend who's always trying to get you to not hang out with people she disapproves of.

Missed a couple of shots I REALLY wanted him to hit, but yeah, he's hopefully everything Eddie was with a couple of other skills added in.

I don't know what to tell you. I never saw him the way you saw him becasue I had seen a lot of him from before and I knew his ballhandling wasn't up to par to be a quasi PG. He played as a SF in the dleague off the ball. They started towards the end of his last season there to give him the ball and he was a TO machine. Literally ball pressure? equalled TO. He has improved. Believe you me, he was worse. But I thought last season and still think he was running out of time to improve that sufficiently to be the main ballhandler bc he's old. The offense if you saw it features a lot of cutting and PnR. I think Simmons will get handled the ball to run a PnR here or there, but he won't be a quasi PG.

The leader of that unit, if he ever achieves his potential is Anderson. I know ppl don't see it like I saw it... but Kyle has been punking fools at this rate for all his young career. You see him slow and you think he can't play then bam! First he's won the game, second you look at his stats and where is this stud? He was played off others and not ideally last season. I have been saying this before but ppl are tired of me at this point so whatever.

I think Simmons benefits from cuts off the ball out of post up players who can pass to him. We saw a lot of plays like this in the RS with Kawhi and even LMA. We saw Kyle and Andre Mille throw lobs to him. He's a monster in transition and in the open court. He has game. It's just not the Manu game. He can pass the basketball within the offense. But between me and you, Pop praised him a lot bc Simmons had major confidence issues.
I think you and I have always had very similar opinions of Kyle. But I think I am beginning to see Simmons more in the same light in which you see him.

The offseason is going as expected:
    1. Didnt get that Loser Duoucherant - POSITIVE
    2. Possibly Losing Diaw - POSITIVE
    3. Drafting some POS - NEGATIVE
    4. Signing Pau - POSITIVE
    5. Possibly Losing West - EXTREME POSITIVE

Overall if the above pan out then the only "downfall" is the draft, which is always a downfall. Great offseason for the spurs. Get rid of the two fatties

Wait, that's actually a REALLY big deal. It says that they guaranteed his first year. That's crazy. It also said that he agreed to stay in SA/Austin even if he's cut. That would mean essentially being like Cady last year, but without anything binding. I assume that article is just messing up a few things, but if not, it's fascinating. There's a legit chance Forbes is on the roster in November. I will say, though, that they better have locked him up to two or three years if they are guaranteeing that much. Makes no sense to sign him to a sort deal but pay him as if he had leverage.

Lee was drafted and is 6'5". Neal was undrafted. I think Forbes has better handles and knows how to space the floor better. Can't say if he can shoot better.

Based on a micro-sample, I like to think Forbes also has better BBIQ than Neal. Hoping. But we shall see...

Just compared profile of Forbes vs Curry. Same height, Forbes has wider wingspan but Curry is more athletic.

Now that's an optimistic comparison. I like it!
