Tim starts so that his knees are warm when he goes in.
Pau plays the bulk of the minutes.
Woj is generally reliable, but how would he get access to the famously stoical Duncan?... Duncan's coach & former wife have said they often didn't know what he was thinking... I find it hard to believe this is anything more than speculation.

Me neither. Maybe we've been trolled.
Sounds like bull , otherwise you would have followed it up pretty quickly with another post.
Tim likely gave the Spurs a heads up so they could start preparing to build a roster under the assumption he's not returning. Woj probably got a hold of that news somehow.
Mentioned this in the "offseason" thread, but I'm wondering if the Spurs are requesting a Disabled Player's Exception for him. If they're not, maybe they should be. His injuries are basketball related. I think there's a good case to be made that it's unlikely that he could play out the season. In fact, there's a case to be made that he couldn't really play out last season, after that injury in December. He was on the court, but not himself. If he was in enough pain, I would think a doctor would certify that.
I don't know if that's what they are doing, but it would make sense that they plow ahead like he intends to play, but isn't healthy enough. An exception would let them pick up a player for up to 50% pf jos salary plus $100K. It's not a lot, but it could make a big difference, as tight as they are right now.
Parker
I still think the best case scenario for Duncan is "retirement" now, and a post all star game return. He was still an elite defender in the first half of last season but wore down as the season progressed. He can spend Nov/Dec/Jan staying in shape by swimming & other low impact exercise and make his final run in the last 4 months of 2017.
he's coming back one more year
you heard it here first!!!1
LOL esp? Seriously though it's a 50/50 shot so if you are right you can say I told you so and then up this post to prove you were rightNobody has a clue at this point though I am guessing but Tim himself, hope he does and hope you are right and he finds another year in him but the 2nd half of last year looked bleak. If that did happen though who do we have? Mills? Ehhhhhhhh that would not be any better.
I suppose Murray but the guy is only 19 years old right now.
Definitely don't want to see Mills as the PG much. If Parker retired, wouldn't that free up $15,000,000? Was thinking they could add a damn good piece or two for that.
If Tim DID return and come off the bench what an example that would show. No way on of our players who even have a bit of Diva in them (LMA, Pau, maybe Tony) could ever complain with the greatest PF ever continuing to sacrifice for the team. It would be great for the locker room, tbh.
Just curious how you think anyone could persuade Tony to retire right now? Threaten to expose him for sleeping with a teammate's wife? Tony has around $30 million coming in the next two seasons, as long as he shows up for work. Thirty.million.bucks.
You guys keep talking about this like some little French guys is going to say, "It's the plane, Boss", and all your wishes are going to come true. The chance of Tony spontaneously retiring is zero. Less than zero. It really doesn't matter how much cap room it could clear up. It can't happen.

Video where one ESPN guy (can't think of his name) wants TD back. Good to hear something nice (for once) from BSPN. He also think we'd have a shot against Dubs.

no he's not going to retire. No one seriously thinks that's a possibility.
Timmy has to make his decision (even if he doesn't make it public) by the 7th when the contracts start being signed. Spurs have to know (if they don't already). When the public knows is anybody's guess.
I heard he's going to GSW
Selfishly I want to see one more year just so I can at least travel to SA & see the man play in the ATT center.
Plus it would be glorious to see the crowd serenade him in his last home game.
Even DRob didn't get a sendoff (for the best reason possible).
Nah, Pop will pull a DNP-CD. Save your time and money.
It would I guess but he is not going to retire so it's just pointless talking it lol, he is here for the contract. They could add a piece for that, damn good though in this market and day and age? Bums are getting 12 mill so you might have to pay around 20 mill for a damn good player.
If he retires, does that prevent the Spurs from signing him in February?
Screw it, it's time for me to start begging. I really, really want you to come back Tim. Please, please come back for one more year. lol, who am I kidding, I'd want him back for more than one more year, but I'll be happy with one more year at this point. Hopefully that good knee is OK and it can heal during this off-season, and it just comes down to a decision of the mental grind of the season. Please come back, Tim.
Yeah. That last knee finally gave out. Reminds me of my '99 Buick. Rock steady for 15 years. Then good but iffy for 2 more.
