Yep. It really should come out today given the moratorium is about to end.
The wait is killing me...
Yep. It really should come out today given the moratorium is about to end.
Sorta. Depends on how the team handles it. We should know by tomorrow evening.
Murray says he is definitely playing tomorrow night. I think that must mean that they have told him that his contract will be finalized by then. I'm guessing that the team knows what Tim is doing, and they are just waiting for dominos to get lined up, before they knock them over in order. I'm still thinking they may have sent people to work out a deal with Bourosis.
Hope you're right.
Indeed. I'm expecting the roster to be 90-percent done by then. Only LJC, Manu's signings and the room-exception signing can occur after Murray signs (well that, and Arcidiacono's and potentially Forbes' signings).
I would hope for the same, though I'm concerned of the crowded position now. It almost assure's Tim is done and Boban is taking an offer elsewhere, no?
As much as we all like Boban, if we can get a better player for equal or less money, it might be a sacrifice we'll have to make.
As far as Timmy, I'm not hopeful of a return. Pray I'm wrong.![]()
The team can keep Boban indefinitely so long as they don't re-sign Manu or use the room exception. His cap hold plus the QO is enough to secure full right of first refusal. But if Manu takes more than the room exception, then the Spurs are vulnerable to losing him.
However, I'm starting to wonder if the market has actually dried up. He's not the only center on the market without a big contract. Maybe it's possible to have him sign a one-and-one at the room exception so he can test the market after having a chance to be a stable rotation player and when teams have cap space again.
Why do people want Bourosis?
^Sorry was thinking of Lorbek who is way more questionable.

Dammit, I keep clicking on this thread when it comes to the top, thinking there's some news.
Spurs need a dependable backup C. Bourousis, I think, is good enough to be that. He should be affordable, and he wants to come here. Unless Boban improves significantly, he'll get lit up by too many teams. He's fun to watch, except when he's not.
The Spurs really did try to get him here when KBP was pimping that thread. They thought he was good enough then, and he's more experienced now. He sort of snubbed them, and I don't know if they are interested in giving him a second chance. But I don't doubt that he has enough to offer, and I don't think they can afford to hold a grudge.
Idk who's shot is more wet.... his or Forbes.. I like this guy.
LOL... so I answered a question that wasn't really a question.
I really feel sorry for Lorbek right now. That poor bas really wants a chance to play, but he can't stay healthy. I think missing these early games due to injuries in warm-ups has already doomed him. He'll get a chance to play a few games, if he's up to it, but I don't think they will look at him seriously anymore. That's a shame for him.
I read (somewhere) that he is a very good passer. If we are really going to have some serious shooters in the second unit (Mills, Bertans, Forbes) that could make him even more valuable.
Much rather him go in with Kobe than Garnett
Reading the tea leaves, it seems Tim's decision falls in line with Borrousis'. Imo I would be ecstatic I'd we land him. Much better all around player than Boban. Much more versatile.
It better happen sooner. Sure, the team can probably deal with signing Murray using cap space, but by the time he decides, it may be too late to use the room exception. If he hadn't opted in, this wouldn't be an issue. But he did. So now he has to deal with it. This just seems to be very odd timing. The biggest thing is that the team really can't afford to carry Duncan's contract for much longer. They really aren't set up for him to return, financially. They made so many commitments already, that a number of folks will have to take less for him to come back now. That wouldn't be the case had he opted out.
Its not that dam hard to think about... Either his old ass wanna play or he dont! he could tell them he dont wanna play away gms in the regular season!
Garnett should have retired three years ago tbh, what is he doing?
If he retires, it would be good since he seems to have finally reached his age's usual physical condition.
If he doesn't retire, I have a chance of going to watch him in his presumed final season.
Man..
Making a couple of more millions?
sigh.. just one percenter things.
