Certainly not blaming the cops but none of them seemed to be wearing their body armor, either not to look "intimidating" to the "peaceful protesters" or just because of the heat. I know my son in laws body armor goes on every time he walks out the door in his uniform, hot or not.

The next shoes to drop this summer:

A cadre of white nationalist snipers will acquire advance notice of a Black Lives Matter protest, and kill 30-40 blacks. They will all be arrested or killed.

Then several groups of blacks will "flash mob" several suburban neighborhood pools, and open fire on whites, mostly woman and children. 100-150 dead. There will be no arrests.

General collapse of civil order, and the concomitant opportunity to seize power is near. It has taken the life's work of so many to bring us to this precipice.

You pretty much surrender those rights when you start assassinating cops.
Pretty much. When you present a clear and obvious danger to yourself and others. Due process is for people who aren't waving guns around.

    Extra Stout bringing the crazy.

You have been listing to too much Alex Jones, and have crossed into territory. Sad. I used to have a modi of respect for your intelligence.

Goes to show even smart people can convince themselves of stupid . Or maybe you are a bit crazy. Hard to say, although statements like this do belie some mental dysfunction.

    "This is a terrorist attack."
"This is why we need to protect our 2nd amendment rights, so that we can use the guns to protect our other rights".

Were the shooters protecting their rights against the government?

Just wondering where the people who worship gun rights draw the line.

    RIP

Some cowards with [assault] rifles, go figure.
    FIFY.

I doubt they had actual sniper rifles. Those are much rarer.

It was done deliberately to be friendly. From what I heard this morning on the radio (NPR) Dallas police have done more than many departments in the country to work at community policing, and the effects of that were starting to be felt in both trust and declines in murder rates.

    SKS = carbine

Not quite an assault rifle, but slap a 30 round magazine and it is pretty indistinguishable.

"The suspect said he was upset about Black Lives Matter. He said he was upset about the recent police shootings. The suspect said he was upset at white people," he said.
It should be noted that the shooter was not part of the protest from all the available information, and viewed the non-violent BLM movement as part of the problem.

    Just adding context.

Of course, the PEACEFUL BLM has been trashed, insulted, coopted, denigrated (as racist) by Fox, rightwingnuts, etc, from the very beginning.

aka, "Those knitters gotta know the place, iow, gotta know that America is "whites-only" "

Current chief brought in to fix problems, including a violent crime e prior to march 2016. (86% jump)
    http://cw33.com/2016/03/29/dallas-mu...rom-last-year/

Leads me to think it was a statistical anomaly. The efforts at community policing probably didn't have enough time to be taking effect. Any drop in short-term murder rate is simply a regression to the mean.

The NPR commentator was likely wrong about cause/effect.

BLM has indeed been trashed, unfairly, by many who have very racist motives.

The criticisms have shown the very ugly underside of conservative politics that sadly drive the Republican party. "we're not racists... but"

Or maybe black people will be horrified by this, and react some other way.

How much do you want to bet on that?

Well I do think a lot of it is that people like Jesse Williams, with a voice, don't condemn the people claiming to be BLM and rejoicing. Just radio silence from Jesse.

He's not obligated to do anything but I also think it looks bad when so many people claiming to be BLM are celebrating this.

Gonna throw these two in now, so we get them out of the way early:

In before "Magic Negro did this with his speech today"

In before "If only more citizens had guns to shoot back this could've been avoided"
I got both of those from the first person I talked to today. They didn't take it well when I laughed at them.

GFY. A couple blacks had enough of their "brothers" being slaughtered, so they shot back. It's not solution.

What's your solution to solve the problem of racist cops brutalizing, slaughtering blacks?

or, all y'all rightwingnut cop fellators in silent agreement with the cops' slaughtering?

What's hilariously uneven in here is the y'all's outrage at blacks shooting back, and silence when cop slaughter blacks.
What's your solution to all the cop-killers being emboldened by the left's War on Cops? Are you just going to celebrate like the piece of you are every time a police officer is killed?

Blacks are more likely to kill cops than be killed by cops. This is according to FBI data, which also found that 40 percent of cop killers are black. According to MacDonald, the police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black than a cop killing an unarmed black person.
