A few little Olympic tid bits none of you are aware of.
The first female 100m champ was a 16 high year old USA HS girl named Betty (Elizabeth) Robinson. This was in 1932.
We all know about Jesse Owens, but only those like myself are aware of Eulace Pea . Pea owned Owens in the 100, he had a 7-3 advantage but due to an injury was unable to compete in our 36 Olympic trials. If he'd been in Berlin there is a good chance he wins the 100m. And, he had also beat Owens in the long jump.
The great Wilma Rudolph*** (polio as a child) who won three sprint gold medals in 1960 was the youngest of 22 children.
Francis Hussey was just a HS kid, his job was to lead off our 1924 Olympic 4x1 team. GB had the Olympic 100m gold medalist Harold Abrahams (Chariots of Fire) on lead off. Yep, you guessed it,the HS kid smoked the Olympic gold medalist, giving the USA a stunning two m lead, a lead they never lost.
Allen Woodring was only there in 1920 as an alternate on the 200m team. Due to an illness he would get his chance to compete. The favorite was fellow American Charles Paddock who had won the 100m gold already. Yep, Woodering beat him to become the only alternate to ever win an Olympic gold medal.
*** not sure about this but I think some of Forrest Gump was based on her story.
Look at the difference here in physique. Notice how effortless running fast is for someone built for speed.

Stupid, I played organized football for 20 years, (played in three alumni games) ran track from 6th grade until I graduated and have been lifting since I was 15 and can totally school your dumb ass in anything having to do with football and track. So wrong once again which is a habit of yours.

Wrong again. I was a RB/cornerback/kick returner/100/4x1 sprinter. Played 15 years city league fooball and was over 40 in my last HS alumni game. Damn you're stupid.

So the QBs and WR in your league must have sucked if a Dline guy got a trophy. Those are the guys with no coordination.
I had no business playing defensive line. That is why I stood out in that role. Guys with my quicks/speed play offense. The thing was I came to that team late, they already had the offfense set but needed a pass rusher. So instead of playing part time on offense I played full time on defense. I was simply too quick, I had that QB on the run quickly. He could never set and throw. And if they kept a back in to block me it rarely worked and that was one less receiver.
Stupid, don't fight it guy, ok? There is a reason there is nobody anywhere who knows more about tracksters in football than myself, the reason being................that was me!
Dummy, I can take every college/every pro team and run down every sprinter/long jumper/hurdler footballer (of note) they have ever had. Why would I care, yep......THAT WAS ME~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!

In 1985 Roosevelt HSer Roy Martin ran a 20.13 200m. And that record has stood all these years. Well it's FINALLY been broken, Virginian HSer Noah Lyles ran a 20.09 at our Oly trials tonight talking 4th and just missing the team, in fifth was another HS kid, Michael Norman, he ran a 20.14.
That is histories first time two JS sprinters broke 20.15 in the same race.
Noah has a brother names Josephus, who is faster than he is at 400m.
Michael Norman is headed to USC he is a 10.2/20.1/45.1 guy.
Keep in mind this is a very VERY rare sight. High school kid vs the pros.
Lyles in lane 4, Norman in 6.

In 1936 in Berlin if Eulace Pea had been there and they had ran 200m man Mack Robinson (Jackies older brother) on the 4x1. We could have seen the first all black world record 4x1 team.

Honestly, these Olympics are planned so far in advance that I'm sure the terrorists probably put a group together and taught them to speak Brazilian and inserted them into society. No racist, but it wouldn't be hard to take someone from the Middle East and make them appear Brazilian. Once they learned the language, it'd be easy for them to assimilate. At least easier than the U.S.
