Jarnell Stokes will snatch an offensive rebound & dunk it on his face while he standing flat footed w/ a screw face.![]()
I'm glad he's gone, tbh, and it wasn't really his fault... Pop just overplayed him a lot against OKC and it allowed a scrub like Kanter to shine...
Been hoping the same happens to Bonner for the past 6 years, tbh...

West has always been a fiery guy. At times, he was a borderline head-case, because he let his anger get the best of him, and lost his composure way too much. And he hurt his teams at critical times with that stuff. He's been better about that on-court for the last several years. But if he was going to be here with a chip on his shoulder towards the team (Pop?), then it's a lot better that he moved on. He's a guy who couldn't let it go.
Gee I wonder who will be a better strategic coach for him, Pop or Kerr?
Yea that comment that he felt disrespected... I can think of two things: Spurs came at him with a min salary offer and he felt he should have gotten Pau Gasol money.. a likely scenario that if they were going to re-sign him he wanted to get paid.
The other scenario is the following, and something we had already started to see last season, if you want to stop hating Fathead for one second. Pop must have told him they planned to distributed some bench PF minutes for Kyle. This had already started last season, it's not like it's news for anyone. And he didn't like that shizz, or the possibility he was going to continue to get played out of position as a Center. And veterans of his nature are not always ready to defer to youngsters when they feel they can play. You can see how SJAX got himself kicked out of the team (didn't he have jealousy towards Danny Green?). I think possible resentment was a'brewing there.
56 games would have been good enough for second seed, and 43 good enough to win the division. There's not much point in winning 67 games if every member of your team s the bed in the playoffs.
He said he was better than Kawhi Leonard.
So does anyone want to guess on why David West felt disrespected? Timvp said D West felt disrespected and that is why he left. Was it a money thing? Was he expecting the Spurs to pay him more money after taking a discount last off-season?
I thought it was Danny and Manu that he thought he was better than? I vaguely remember an interview after he got cut where he said something along the lines of that he didn't ever say that he's better than Kawhi, unless he was lying through his teeth during that interview? Kawhi is the only one he mentioned during the interview that he said he didn't say he was better than him. I don't recall him mentioning anyone else by name though.
Yeah, I guess that's right. I could have sworn it was Kawhi when I typed it, but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong now. Sorry.![]()
Spurs cut his buddy Rasual Butler to keep that ty Ginger scrub. That probably pissed him off too.
I forgot they were friends. What an idiotic cut that was by the Spurs. Bonner should have been cut, but I'm sick of saying it.
Don't believe Jax he's full of . It was Kawhi who he thought he was better than. He changed up his story later on to not look stupid especially after Kawhi won finals MVP by saying he was referring to Manu and Green.
I never understood the manu or green reference. He doesn't even play that position to get offended by them. At the time I thought Kawhi. Sjax probably switched his story.
Dude gave up $10mil for a ring, didn't happen with San Antonio, so Warriors on paper look like they will surely ring, but nothings a sure thing in the NBA. I'd imagine he will continue to ring chase till he gets one.
It would be funny if the Spur somehow found a way to win it all and to see West then try to sign with the Spurs again.
When did he change up his story? The interview I saw was from 2013, a short time after he was cut. It was nowhere near the time Kawhi won finals MVP. I'm pretty sure he made a point of it to say he's not better than Kawhi, but didn't mention Green or Manu, so I thought going by that, he meant he thought he was better than those two.
I really don't think West is a ring chaser. He wanted to play for the Spurs. He was a D Rob and Duncan fan, he wanted to play for them. Something obviously happened as he felt disrespected, but I just don't understand what he would have felt disrespected about. He didn't really play good enough to get a raise (if it was about money). He also got plenty of court time too, and he crapped out in the OKC series, so I just don't have any idea what his problem was.
It was Green and Manu that he would not admit were better than him.
Here's the excerpt from the story:
“I would never say a player is better than me when I know their (sic) not. Not for no one. #uandiknowwhatsgoingon”
Tuesday he revealed who he was talking about: Danny Green and Manu Ginobili.
Jackson insists Popovich wanted him to admit Green and Ginobili were better. More than likely, Popovich simply told Jackson they were better. That’s why they were playing instead of him.

Here's another quote from Danny Green in a USA Today article:
Green, who entered Game 6 as the favorite to win NBA Finals MVP if the Spurs could win it all, said Jackson's exodus was taken in stride by the Spurs.
"I didn't know what the discussion was; I heard rumors," Green said. "Obviously Jack is a great locker room guy. He's one of my favorites, regardless of the conversation he had with Pop or whatever it was. He thought that he should've been playing more minutes over me or whatever the conversation may be — I don't know what it was. He's one of my guys. He helped me grow as a player, made me become a better defender, tougher, all-around, everything. He helped us. We liked having him around. It was shocking to me, as I'm sure it was to everybody else. You obviously didn't want him to leave, but Pop thought it was best for the team and it seems to be working out."

If only Harrison Barnes was on the roster.....![]()
I can't help but think if we played West more as a PF than C, and actually played him a lot with a proper C, we would have got more out of him.
Not sure we used him right aye
