"You don't see Timmy beating his chest as if he was the first human being to hug the basketball, as a lot of people do these days. He's not pointing to the sky. He's not glamming to the cameras. He just plays, and we've seen it for so long it's become almost mundane. But it's so special that is has to be remembered.

After watching Pop today you have to wonder,

    A. Does he even have the fire anymore?
    B. He always said he'd leave when TD did. Had he not made his promise to LMA would he be done too?

    Dude looks devastated

I watched him complaining to the refs every time he got a call against him.

They worked together for almost 20 years. Of course he's going to grieve.

pretty much the above. nba has very few professionals playing the game. sad to see one of the last go away. its now a debate whether to watch or not. Only a matter of time before the nba is completely full of the jr smiths and kevin durants. feel bad for those who've watched, feel worse for the younger generation who have literally no quality people to look up to. todays nba........

There is hope in terms of role models. Leonard is truly the only rare star the resembles timmy in terms of humility. In the entire league, I think Leonard is the only one. Every one else is in the curry chewing mouthpiece league.

I'm sure he has... I've been binge watching Timmy highlights earlier in the day.

but they came from coming through in the moment, on big stages... moreso than a Look At Who I am sort of display.

He is devastated no question about it. I always felt like after Tim's father passed pop stepped in and completely became the father figure for him. They just have a very special bond. Like very few bonds a player coach ever share.

Don't know if this story has been posted - much more detail than the normal how TD was discovered. Love how even as a 16 year old he was thinking ahead (where he sat out the first game).

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ing-at-age-16/

Feel so sad - cried through Pop's presser.

Agree. When Pop talked about Tim's father today, that was like straight out of a movie. In all my years of following sports I have never felt this emotional, ever.

    Cowherd sticking to his schtick.

This clown Cowt*** in based in LA and has always sucked up to the Lakers and Bryant. His career is going to die very soon moving over to Fox by the way.

The Lakers franchise has been dragged down to mediocrity and worse by Kobe Bryant twice in the last 10-12 years. 17 wins last year versus Tim's contributions from start to finish in 19 years. How is Kobe interesting anyway? He speaks Italian and takes really bad shots and can't win unless he has BIG help from guys like Shaq and Gasol? Please.
