The Spurs were not going to match Detroit's offer for Boban so it didn't matter how much the Spurs gave Manu.
we couldn't get BOBAN back bc of Manu's big contract. Thanks a lot philly...

Dont you dare disrespect matt ing bonner
Dedmon was starting games for the magic. He's a more than capable back-up who could be rolled out for 20-25min against non-scrubs, as long as he keeps the fouls in check.
Those saying Kyle is a valid option must be drunk
Anderson in the Diaw role with Dedmon as the fourth big in the West role.
What's a big? Back up center is obviously Dedmon and are Bertans and Anderson consider "bigs". Spurs are slowly becoming a very looooooong team.
Yeah sorry but dedmon and kyle as our backups scares the outta me
If reports about Bass were accurate, it's not like they aren't trying to fill that void (also meaning no more Bonner hopefully lol)
If Dedmon replaces Boban's role, who plays backup center? Wouldn't it be more logical to replace West with a true 5, rather than another 4?
too high of a price
At the moment, Dedmon's our 3rd big and Bertans is our 4th. I suspect Bertans will get most or all of his time at the 4. Kyle will get some. If Jean-Charles signs, he could get some time at the 4.
But the Spurs will almost certainly sign another big (and another wing). If Jean-Charles signs too, that'll be your full 15.
Generally speaking, the Spurs have "Bigs," "Wings," and a "Playmaker" or PG. Dedmon is a legit, 7'0" (or thereabouts), 245 lb. Big. Not counting playoff slot players Dre Miller and K-Mart, there are at least three slots to be filled:
Boban -> Dedmon
Diaw ->
West ->
Maybe Bonner ->
It is fairly obvious that Anderson has similar qualities to Boris, other than the excess weight Boris regained last off-season and season, and is being groomed to fill Boris' role. Getting another Big to replace West would be a good thing. Although Bertans is 6'-10," he's not really a post/pivot type Big. The same goes for Bonner. Whether West's slot is filled by a 7-footer or someone closer to West's size, they would be better protected with a Big that has some physicality and defensive savvy.
Tired of the old ass ring chasing dinosaurs. Make a run through the 10 days contracts and find a minimum wage keeper.

Just can't see him being affective against nba-size bigs

I have a su ion that Bonner is immortal, one of them Highlanders, lol
Isnt Davis Bertans a three?????
I think so, but it's hard to see where the Spurs are going bc the roster is not complete.
How do you gonna playing small ball against gsw if you didn't add quality wings? If you play Manu or Slowmo against them you gonna get killed even more than last year against them... What the spurs are doing with not adding another quality wing is the biggest question!! This forum is sleeping not being on it or he is so pro manu and not thinking about the team, not accepting that Manu not an nba player anymore!
Spurs will have to settle with either Bonner or a project (Damien Inglis).
with Bass gone and Stokes' solid (really not spectacular) showing, he might get the nod. Not sure how they'll make it work since Forbes and Arcidiacono were signed (although either could go to Austin to make space for another big).
