Are we really looking for a big now?
Too bad Maurice Harkless is a restricted free agent. His skillset will come in handy.
Are we really looking for a big now?
And that why we don't have a vet signed IMO. I think even D west didn't like this. The only big that was perfectly fine with this was Boris.
Teams gambling on potential over proven reliability.
Odd indeed given that Bertans, Forbes and Arcidiacono were all announced by the the team.
Very likely with only 3 of them in the roster and LJC being questionable.
My speculation is that Damien Inglis would be signed. The miss on Bass was the final blow.
Inglis looks as slow as Kyle Anderson but without the skills or IQ.
Well, looks like vets are passing on Spurs for the minimum. What that tells me is that Spurs will be lucky to sign anyone worthwhile.
There are two frenchies that have not been picked up yet, that's Seraphin and Inglis. Seraphin is likely out of Spurs price range and likely will be picked up by the Knicks.
That leaves Inglis with nobody is talking about (after being waived by the Bucks).
I am inclined to think Spurs are looking at Cady. I didn't like Stokes he's such a skilled player but clearly not a big. No one else stood out in SL. Isn't Inglis comparable to LJC?
Inglis is stronger, is a better ballhandler and has better feel for the game, while LJC is more athletic. Too bad you can't merge those two guys together.
Inglis looks interesting and probably better fit than Thomas Robinson, but it seems like they'd want to give LJC a shot first?
Both still have a long way to got, but if you are going to start a project with LJC, you might as well also start a project with Inglis.
I've got the feeling Arci and Forbes will make the time and they'll go with KA at the 4 full time, if we ever sign a big I think LJC doesn't make the roster
I'd sign Inglis for the D-League and see how much he can develop from there.
Damien Inglis is only 21 and he went through the same INSEP program as Parker and Diaw. There's no news on the guy, so I'm hoping that this is some secret plan by the Spurs ( and LJC is just a ruse ). See, the problem with LJC is that he's **Lazy**. Spurs like players that are hard working, that's why Dedmon was picked up. I can also say the same about the other rookies, Murray, Arcidiacono and Forbes. LJC rotted for years with ASVEL and he didn't build muscle nor build up any skills.
Speaking of Inglis ( keep this quiet though ), here are some videos:

In the right system, he's KL lite.

I wouldn't mind Amar'e. Think he did fairly decent in Miami last year...seemed to buy in defensively, and he's still a very capable player on offense. Manu/Amar'e PnRs would beas well.
So, will he accept the minimum with the stipulation that he's not going to play a lot?
Looks unimpressive as . Definitely isn't taking any minutes from Anderson, and probably not even Simmons. And even if he's better than LJC, I'd much rather gamble on Livio's cheap deal than mess around with Inglis
He only played 14 mpg last season in Miami on a vet min deal. Not sure whether he'd be willing to do so for SA but I don't think it's out of the question.
Spurs have no choice but to scrape from the bottom . He isn't doing that well either in summer league, but maybe worth the gamble.
I was hopefully for LJC but to my eye he was horrible, wouldn't even get much playing time in D-league. The only big that looked decent, and that was in very limited minutes and on D, was Nnoko.
fwiw Chinook's post mentioned Arci and Forbes but LJC was con uously absent.
AMare , he's the best option. Start dedmon and have a 2nd unit Of: amare, pau, manu, mills Simmons (no kyle)
No he wasn't. Not any more than Murray, Bertans or Anderson.
