IF Paul exercises his ETO, he will be a free agent next summer. If that happens the cap will be at about 102-105 millions, and the Spurs would have to unload Tony or Pau, considering Manu retires, in order to have the space to offer a max contract.
So unless he forces the Clip´s hand on a sign and trade or a straight up trade it is very difficult to happen.
There is a legit chance for us to land him if he takes the player option and enters free agency in 2017-18, by that point Tony´s albatross will be off the books and so will Pau. We will have room to offer a max contract to CP3 and also bring add someone else.

but what if he joins the Clippers team? What if the Clippers release Chris Paul? Do you guys think we have a good chance on landing him if such scenario occurs?
