Marvell Wynne bears the same name as his father, who played eight seasons in the National League as a speedy outfielder and leadoff man, but the Rapids center back failed to inherit his father’s interest in baseball. Wynne had the same problem with baseball a lot of soccer fans do.

“It was just way too slow,” Wynne said. “I was way too energetic, so I just stuck to soccer.”
Wynne in his senior year of high school ran a 100 Meters in a 10.39 seconds

    Slow game=/=unathletic game.

I'm actually bored watching yet ANOTHER goal sport. Already got basketball, football, and sometimes hockey for that.

Baseball is a nice contrast. Goal sports are redundant.

And posting sprint times of soccer players.

    So what?

Something interesting is that the two have 100m track times that they ran in college: Bo – 10.39 and Deion – 10.21.
    "Boom" indeed.

Besibol was just a side-hustle for Deion/Bo, they didn't even show-up to practice.

"Baseball was truly a hobby and a part-time situation for one of the greatest athletes I've been around," Smoltz said.
"football is my wife and besibol is my mistress." - Deion

Wrong on Bo. Baseball was his FIRST sport. He would join the Raiders only after baseball season ended http://www.pro-football-reference.co...J/JackBo00.htm .

My first love is baseball, and it has always been a dream of mine to be a major league player. My goal now is to be the best baseball player Bo Jackson can be.”
    http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/b...caneers-062116

Deion was the reverse. He would leave his baseball team early to join his football team.

But they were both baseball players.

And implying cheating men don't treat their mistresses better (and are more attracted to) than their wives.

And Bo was the best ball sport athlete of the 80's/early 90's

Men w/ mistresses dip after they get what they want & in Deion's case it was money/attention with bare minimum effort.

Wrong on Bo. Baseball was his FIRST sport.
    First sport:
In his report, the college scout stated that his only weakness was a lack of baseball experience.

Forced to retire from football since he wasn't physically fit but still able to play in the Slow League for 3 years despite being crippled.

He only played 180 games over that span, and was terrible to the point the Royals cut him. No hips=no playing baseball at an elite level.

Dumb spin. An NBA big could play through Jackson's injury for maybe a season or two.

Football is also obviously the most demanding sport with regard to explosiveness. A minor NBA injury is a major NFL injury. Running backs have the shortest careers of all NFL players. That position kills players. (probably won't as much now in the Goodellball era).

Bo was batting better than Bryce "Best-hitter-in-besibol" Harper & had a better slugging percentage.

Crippled Bo gunning down Slow Ball athletes:

You're really going to compare medicine tech of the late 90s to that of today?

If Jackson were playing today, that period immediately following his injury is when modern medicine could have possibly prolonged his career. Not even necessarily by wiping out the AVN or by catching it early, but by ensuring it never happened in the first place.

Prevention is the first line of defense here. MRIs and angiographs—injections of dye into the vessels followed by X-rays that visualize flow patterns—can demonstrate damage to vital blood vessels before extensive cell death occurs. The last 20 years has seen great strides in imaging quality, allowing analysis of fine structural integrity, and we know about the best timing, types, and views to implement for specific injuries. Immediate X-rays, CTs, and MRIs are necessary for visualizing dislocations or bleeding into the joint, but aren't effective in visualizing AVN until four or six weeks post-injury.3
Still don't get your point with this? Post-injury, Jackson only played a season's worth of MLB games and was a 0.5 WAR player. Keep in mind he also took two years off after playing only 23 games with the White Sox.

Boiled down: The injury ended both his baseball and football careers. Bo was out of baseball at 31. A prime age.

DeJuan Player career average VORP: 0.6

    Bo WAR post-injury: 0.43

Ricky Rubio VORP: 2.3 this season

    Gangsta is done, though.

Also don't know why you bring up Harper? He's below replacement level this season

Pitchers know how to get in his head now.

Just want to say, Hines Ward had only one ACL, and he was a fantastic NFL player. Not sure if that changes anything with the debate, but it came to mind when reading.

Besibol, where below replacement level scrubs can win MVPs, unanimous at that:

VORP doesn't translate well into WAR.

Steve Francis had the highest VORP in the LEAGUE for the 2000-01 season.

Ricky Rubio VORP: 2.3 this season

Storm seem to think that if you can play a sport with a physical limitation, it somehow makes that sport less demanding or something.

I mean, being a midget is a pretty big physical limitation, and the GOAT soccer player stands about 5'2".

He's too in shape right now for Fat Ball.

Should have just been downing 6 packs & taking amphetamine:

A retired Tony Gwynn spoke openly of baseball's amphetamine problem in 2003, estimating for The New York Times that 50 percent of position players were using them routinely, many of them before almost every game.
Hopefully, he can eat his way out of shape before October.

That's great, except Mike Trout is the best player in baseball, and is a physical beast that can dunk on something higher than an 8 foot rim

2nd best player in baseball, fatty Josh Donaldson:

With Harper, last season he was killing teams with "penetration," so now teams have adjusted and are playing off of him forcing him to take the jumper.
