Staaaaaaacked
Patricio Garino just signed with the Spurs for partially guaranteed contract...
Ouch, now I don't know who I want to make the team between him and Arci![]()
That he has good size and is known for being a good defender is intriguing. But he's not likely to make the team now.
A-10 First Team All Defense for three years. Could be a good potential back up for Kawhi if Fathead won't cut it.
What's your guess for the 15th roster spot on opening night? Forbes, Arci, Garino, Bonner, someone else, or no one?
Another Patty on the team![]()
Gotta keep that Argie quota after Manu is gone.
They'll probably bring in two bigs and another wing. It obvious depends on who those guys are. But Forbes has the best chance, I think. He might be able to replace Mills, even though I'm now thinking it's likely Mills is back. Arcidiacono is probably the best, though that's with me knowing nothing about Garino.
So Garino is the Argentine, LJC is the Frenchie. So now the Spurs just need to trade for Christmas.
6'7" and 43 % three point shooting last year in college? Surely intriguing. TP has LJC now Manu has Garino!
And revitialize Anthony Bennet's carreer
On top of that:http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/...o-Garino-7063/
Much of Garino's potential is derived from his individual defense, as he is always in his opponent's space, locking his man down on a regular basis. He is an agile defender, sliding his feet and not allowing his man to move freely while also playing the passing lanes, averaging 1.7 steals per 40 minutes adjusted. While he is a good individual defender, he doesn't always react on time in a team defensive concept as he can be a step slow to rotate over on penetration. He can guard multiple positions and can switch onto ball-handlers off of pick and rolls.
I love Arci but I think Forbes has the early lead. Garino has an interesting skill set and size, though is off hand when shooting looks real weird. Check out the worst scouting video ever showing him missing shots. I thought these videos only showed scoring plays?:
Maybe Pop saw something on Patricio Garino watching the USA vs. Argentina game?
Well he can play SG and SF and he has a high IQ and he is a very good defender. The Spurs are signing so many peeps I really don't know which way they are going. It's going to be very interesting watching summer camp who shines and who doesn't and who signs the contract and who gets the boot.
As as long as one of these guys replaces Bonner I am good with it. Come on Red Mamba join RC in his nice air conditioned office.
Spurs are now keeping an eye on this kid

Gotta keep harvesting Argies, best players ever and its not a biased opinion...
I don't know the guy but I have an opinion on his abilities!
Just kidding - in all honesty, I am just glad it's a younger player. Spurs don't have many young guys I am interested in unfortunately (other than Bertans/Murray), especially wings/bigs so I am happy to see SA working hard to get younger.
Spurs are still in win-now mode but like they have been for so many recent years, trying their best to keep an eye out for younger future players. It's tough and the pipeline isn't great yet, but I'm all for the direction of the team.
Garino's signing makes it five Spurs playing in the Olympics!
I'm so glad the Spurs aren't givingtodays nba contracts to people. Getting them on the cheap with good upside.
