Makes some good points, I disagree about his defense, but overall it made me hopeful we can content next year with TP running the team as the primary ball handler.

He's probably the worst starting PG for a "contender". We're ed if we go into the playoffs starting the ham.
Maybe (especially if he declines any more) - BUT!!!
SA was so close to beating a really good OKC team in that series. They swept a mediocre playoff team before that and had a ridiculously close series with OKC who took GS to game 7 (and should have beaten them).
Tim was really a non-factor against OKC and if Pau can give the Spurs anything more than Tim did while hobbled that series (which should be a reasonable assumption to make) they likely beat OKC and are in the WCF.
If Danny has a nice rebound year (which in the playoffs he showed out great) that too is a big help.
There are clear paths to the Spurs being better next year even with TP at the helm. Spurs needed to get more talent to make up for it which they did.
Not if they want to win a le, contend is relative when you have a free pass to the playoffs since now West sucks as much as the East.
There are easily 10+ starting PGs better than Parker. That's not good enough for a contender at all.
Parker is 18th in the league among PGs in terms of efficiency.

Ptr thinks fathead is good too. Lol
Actually we need to lean on Parker more like we did in 2012-14 when we actually made deep playoff runs. There's nothing to suggest Tony's actually significantly declined since then except for the fact that we cut his minutes and tried to run the offense through Kawhi and now LMA.
article said it not ducks
IDK I think he lost some speed too but that is normal at his age and mileage to be honest. We will see.
Hopefully Tony spent his entire summer working on that jumper. He may not be able to get to the rim consistently anymore, but he will be able to get that shot consistently. His best years were when he was hitting that consistently.
Yep, his shot is horrible and has been for a little bit now. That LAC series was his worst (I know he was banged up but my God his shot was bad). He needs to get that reliable J going if he wants to continue in this league because he has lest a step or two at his age/mileage.
More Tony chucking?
He wasn't even that good at jumpshots in his prime.
No doubt about it. Thanks for sharing... Looking forward to a bounce back season from TP
He has been garbage these past 2 years. People already forgot.![]()
Probably the most important player in the starting lineup everyone else could be replaced and the Spurs would still win 50+ games. Without Parker the Spurs would struggle to advance ball past half-court.
Replace Porkers 15mil contract these past 2 years and we win 2 chips easily.![]()
him chucking over percent what harden is at 33 percent
I thought last year was a bounce back season?
Spurs should re sign TJ Ford.
I'm ok with a Tony and Manu farewell tour, tbh... but let's not try to put lipstick on a pig with like "good enough"... Spurs should be all hands on deck next summer to try to nab Westbrook, tbh...
