Who cares about bench clearing brawls?that's the best you can do to find comparable bench-clearing brawls? How about sports writers celebrating those "fights"? The rest of your post isn't relevant to sport-sanctioned in-game brawls.
Name all the players who've gotten seriously injured in a bench clearing brawl or find an instance of a player hitting a referee?
And who is "sanctioning this?" Players are suspended for throwing punches.

The Giants are one of the most historic franchises in a large and influential market. Giants-Royals is more like Rockets-Cavs, perhaps minus the star power. Maybe it's Sixers-Jazz/Blazers/Thunder/Spurs/Kings as an alternative.

The Bay Area will be split in fandom between the A's and the Giants, and Southern Californian baseball fans would rather have a root canal than watch the hated Giants in the post-season.
