It would explain why Obama's approval ratings are so high. People are getting a good look at this freak show of a presidential election we've had in the past year and realize just how good they have it now. The main reason Obama was elected in the first place had nothing to do with experience. It was temperament and that he acted like a reasonable, knowledgeable adult. Hillary clearly isn't trustworthy but at least she's knowledgeable and somewhat reasonable. Trump acts like he's still back in junior high making a payback hit list of people that slighted him...except he makes that list every goddamn day of his life.

Mr. Trump was absolutely out of line talking about Mr. Kahn's wife. It was wrong in so many ways. But at least he did say that Captain Humayun Khan was a hero.

He didn't even have to do it silently. A reasonable man would simply say "I'm sorry this family feels that way and I would never do anything to dishonor the service of our armed forces but these are difficult times we're in. I really don't want to take these measures but if these attacks keeps happening I'm keeping this option on the table".
That's a reasonable, adult response even people are vehemently against it. The backlash would have been nowhere near as severe but Trump just can't help himself. The man proves himself to be an idiot every day and I think he's more concerned with "ratings" more than anything.

Veteran gives Purple Heart to Trash
A military veteran presented Donald Trump with his Purple Heart ahead of his Tuesday rally in Virginia.
Trump, the Republican Party's presidential nominee, identified the man as a lieutenant colonel. The Purple Heart is a military award given to someone who is wounded or killed while serving.
“Man, that's big stuff,” Trump said. “I always wanted to get the Purple Heart — this was much easier. I'll tell you, it was such an honor.”
Trump opened the rally by taking out the medal and telling the crowd in Ashburn, Va., that “something very nice just happened to me.”
