but it's also true Kobe has won nary a series without Pau while Gasol has at least taken his team to the second round without Kobe. These are facts
Because it's true and it is for all time. That's the beauty of it.
but it's also true Kobe has won nary a series without Pau while Gasol has at least taken his team to the second round without Kobe. These are facts
Kobe has won as the main option. Gasol has not.
Then you need to stick with that.
Me? Pau couldn't win a single playoff game till Kobe held his hand.
All these years later what stands out the most about Robinson is how Spurs Fan turned on him, called him everything but a black man because he could not ring. And Media helped 50/50 in the destruction of Robinson. That was before Pop, before Duncan, before the sun shone on ya's. You were fair game and Robinson was crucified. I didn't think much of it then, you weren't anything to me. I just watched the black man get posted & whipped. Kinda like a pseudo Holocaust.
It's all been white washed now, hidden away. Robinson, he holds no grudge, or, at least has enough sense to keep it hidden.
Spurs Fan...eh, big shots.
He was a choker and stat padder
Of course he was. But the point is Ben Wallace had no other all stars on his team when he won a championship....why do I even have to explain this to you?
Big time choker. If Duncan hadn't sashayed in God only knows what would have happened to Robinson. Lynched, drummed out of the Navy, saber broke in half thrown out the front gates like the Rifleman/Chuck Conners in "Branded." What do you do when you're branded, and you know you're a man?
DRob was essentially the center version of KG. Incredible talent, versatile, and put up mind-blowing stats. Neither player had particularly good supporting casts for most of their primes and neither was able to find that extra gear come playoff time. Both also settled more jumpers and relied more on their faceup game.
Was KG a 1A? I'd say so. You don't have to win a le to be a number 1 option/franchise player.
Harlem?
I'd put D-Rob as a 1A before I would Kobe. Offensively, was he 1A? I felt like he needed a good 1B he never had. Defensively, that guy was 1A even when he was past his prime. The Knicks just couldn't get any inside game going with him anchoring that defense.
Yeah. It is only spoiled fans who think a player can't be a 1a just because he couldn't win a le all by his freaking self.
No it's not he couldn't win by himself. He could not win as the first option.
Kobe has won as the first option. Robinson got his pushed in when it counted...
Was it the year he led his team in WS, ORTG/DRTG difference, BPM or VORP (not and, or)?
My bad, never happened.
Was it the year Robinson led his team to the finals as the main option ? My bad, never happened.
So they are either both 1a or both 1b. You choose.
Kobe is obviously a first option. He has won as one. Robinson has not. He is option B.
I keep asking myself the same question, dude.![]()
