Can someone please make an awesome one to print out and stick up at my desk?
Cheers
No. That was the last win on Xmas.

I don't even other with Christmas games now man, waste of time. As you said they will lose. Stop scheduling them for our sakes and theirs on that day NBA.
-LeBron is going to be cruising during the regular season
-Cripples might have traded Blake &/or CP3 by the trade deadline
-OKC is going to be the equivalent of last season's Blazers w/o Dominos/Chewbaka
The season opener is actually the best time to catch them since they are going to be playing sloppy trying to show off their new car.
'10-'11 Heat
'12-'13 Lakers
'14-'15 Cavs
'15-'16 Spurs
...all lost their season opener after winning the off-season lottery.
When's Timmys jersey retirement gonna be, tbh?
First game home? October 29?
OMG Yo voy a mi!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its our chance to take them on b4 they gel... problem is the team won't have gelled either.![]()
It better be. I already got my plane tickets!
Didn't they wait like 3 or 4 years for D-Rob? Isn't there a convention in general to wait a few years just to make sure the player doesn't un-retire? If true, I wouldn't expect it this year. That said, if the Spurs were gonna ignore precedent for anyone, it should be Timmy D!
Not too bad. Real chance to win them all.
They retired it about November IIRC. No waiting at all.
Really? I though they waited until 2007.
EDIT: Just checked. They did, in fact, do it in 2003. My mistake.Good news then for Timmy.
They are going to wait till after all star break and retire the big 3 together. Prob a game in March.
I really have no idea when they will retire Tim's jersey. Thought it might be the first game. Just know it's going to be intense. I like the hope that he might wake up in December and say 'I'm feeling like playing' un-retire me!'
I thought they did it in March or April 2003? Remember the Malik Rose speech and all
Just discovered this nugget... that's straight up bizarre, never really heard of before at least for us.
In 2008-09, the Spurs actually had 2 back-to-back sets with both games at home:
27 Mon, Dec 22, 2008 7:30p EST Box Score Sacramento Kings W 101 85 17 10 W 2
28 Tue, Dec 23, 2008 7:30p EST Box Score Minnesota T'wolves W 99 93 18 10 W 3
55 Tue, Feb 24, 2009 7:30p EST Box Score Dallas Mavericks W 93 76 38 17 W 3
56 Wed, Feb 25, 2009 7:30p EST Box Score Portland Trail Blazers W 99 84 39 17 W 4
I think there has been at least one other recent occurrence (in a non-lockout season) of a home back-to-back, but I haven't found it yet.
I'm not sure if you were joking. Obviously Robinson was still playing in March/April of 2003. He retired in June 2003 after the championship.
There was a pre-retirement ceremony toward the end of the 2002-03 season after a game against the Bucks to honor David Robinson, but not a jersey retirement.

SAN ANTONIO — David Robinson, retiring at the end of this season, received an outpouring of appreciation Tuesday from fans in San Antonio, where he has played all 13-plus years of his stellar career.
The Spurs beat the Milwaukee Bucks 107-94 on David Robinson Night. The 7-foot-1 center finished with 10 points and five rebounds in 20 minutes.
"San Antonio fans, you're the best -- I love you all," he said during a red-carpet ceremony after the game at the SBC Center. "I can't remember anything this special that has happened to me on the basketball court."
#50 was retired on November 10, 2003 after a game against the Jazz.
Probably another reason that Tim announced his retirement so suddenly, he didn't want to deal with something like that.
That's what I remembered. Also our first home win against the Bucks in the 21st century. I remember being scared all along (when the date had been announced) for that game because we hadn't beaten the Bucks anywhere in like 7 years before we snapped the curse in a thriller last-minute comeback win in Milwaukee earlier in March... Malik Rose's career night.
Oh okay, that was the year I completely skipped following the team/watching most of the games because I had such a fun year in school (8th grade), Manu was out most of the year, and the Spurs were irrelevant. Also, IIRC, we lost the first 4 or 5 games of that season, that was the one year (actually 2009-10 too) that I never really cared so it didn't stick in my memory.
