So I was waiting for the prime time broadcast yesterday and the only things on were replays of soccer games and maybe a basketball game. And men's field hockey. Which I've never seen. So I decided to check that out. And for sports with two sides trying to score (football, basketball, soccer, etc.), it has to be the most boring. Seems unnatural...running and hunching over hitting the ball around.

Yesterday was pretty boring in general other than the few track finals.

As I predicted, Bolt took gold and Gatlin the silver.

While I knew Van Niekerk would win the 400m I didn't expect a 43.03 and a new WR. He is histories only sub10.00, sub20, sub43.10 sprinter. And like the female 400m WR holder Marita Koch he is all about "sustained speed". Koch was a WR holder at 200m also. Her ability to maintai/sustain a higher % of her max velocity is why she holds the record. That ability is also why WVN broke the record. And the guy who held the WR Michael Johnson was also a 200m WR holder.

At his age I do see WVN being histories first sub 43.00 down the road.

If Bolt is running 9.81 that tells us he is in 19.55-19.65 20m shape. Which is a place nobody else in 2016 can go. So he will have double gold. Gatlin and DeGrasse in the medal hunt.

I can tell you to keep an eye on several of the young black running backs and recievers. Some are going to have jaw dropping seasons.
