Shooting is all the casual fans sees, but 90% of the game is off the ball. Be a fan all you want, but Parker needs to play better defense for the Spurs to excel.

AJ's shot in '99 had a lot more time on the clock and it was a game-winner. Duncan's shot over Shaq in '04 wasn't a game-winner and he hit it with 0.4 left. It doesn't matter how much time is on the clock for it to be a game-winner. It does for a buzzer-beater, which is why I didn't use that term. I get what you're saying, but that's not entirely true. For one, scoring (and you have to shoot to score) is how winning and losing is measured quite literally. Also, players like Parker have a far greater usage rates than 10% (he's had over 30%). For role players and bench players, you're statement is pretty accurate, but not for players like Parker who have led the team in assists for 15 years in row and also led the team in scoring for many of those same years. That's why he's the head of the snake, because not many players lead their team in both.

Usually if you have a point to make you can say it once. Your point is mills played better than Parker. I think that's right but the answer had has more to do with the two teams talent. France was a ty team and Parker wss their best player. Mills is playing with a good team. He's the second or third best player (bogut,delly).
