A few things that stood out from Strong's press conference after this morning's scrimmage...
-he will not name a QB starter publicly, but the team will know.
-Jerrod Heard caught a 50 yard TD during the scrimmage.
-QB Kai Locksley is getting work returning punts.
-Erick Fowler will start backing up Jefferson at Mike LB.
Big visitor.
2019 QB Grant Gunnell (Houston St. Pius X)
Looks like Thompson was in Austin yesterday.
Happened with his GF, he pushed her down, she hit her head on child's rocking chair.
swoopes ?..............
http://texas.thefootballbrainiacs.co...y-august-20th/Coach Strong and the staff have made a decision on who their starter will be. I spoke to a couple sources last night about where things stand. And let’s just say that the in bent proved harder to defeat than expected but if he doesn’t perform on the field then he won’t sit in the oval office for long.

On Sunday, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kellyannounced Redfield had been dismissed from the team, although he did not specify what punishment the other four Irish players would receive.
Senior CB Butler was also suspended indefinitely for his involvement in a seperate issue.
OrangeBloods reporting former Bowling Green WRs coach, Andrew Sowder, has been added to the offensive staff.

Haven't seen anything saying he was on campus.
Continual references to bad feelings Mack's guys stirred up it seems? Or maybe the staff overhaul and who a player was recruited by? Should be gone by now.
FWIW, Maisel from ESPN believes Buechele will be the starter.

24/7 expects WR Armanti Foreman to return to practice today after injuring his ankle recently.
OT Tristan Nickelson should be back later in the week, but still no timetable for C Zach Shackelford.
Inside Texas spoke with 2018 CB Jalen Green of Houston Heights (formerly Reagan) recently.
There's been some angst over UT not offering him yet as he's one of the top CBs in the state for his class, but he said not to worry as he has a high opinion of UT.
Supposedly some of his family members love UT and Green plans on being in Austin early in the season.
A few quotes from 2019 QB Grant Gunnell of Houston St. Pius X after attending Saturday's scrimmage (Inside Texas):
"The visit was awesome," said Gunnell. "I loved it. The whole coaching staff was wonderful. I really liked the vibe of the team during the scrimmage also."
"He (Charlie Strong) was awesome just while I was talking with him," Gunnell remarked. "I can tell he is definitely doing something special with Texas."
Inside Texas is hearing DE Taquon Graham of Temple is getting very close to shutting down his recruitment and UT is the favorite.
They believe he'll be the next pledge in the class.
QB Sam Ehlinger has entered the Top 100 on Rivals.
More from 2019 QB Grant Gunnell of Houston St. Pius X (24/7):
“It has all been pretty exciting for me,” Gunnell said. “It's exciting that it’s all happening so early. I just want to take things slow.”
“I got to sit in the quarterback meeting room, which was really cool,” Gunnell said. “We watched some film from the first scrimmage. He talked to me about the pass-run option. I liked him. He was really cool.”
“We do a lot of the same stuff at St. Pius X, so I was familiar with it,” Gunnell said. “They did a lot of pass-run option. They passed it a lot more, which I liked. It was really cool to be out there.”
“I like all the tradition at Texas,” Gunnell said. “They are on the come up with Coach Strong. He’s a really good coach. He knows what he’s doing in recruiting and what to do with the players he has.”
