I've only been following Track, since it's something I did throughout my teens until my early 20s, tbh..one of my old training friends actually competed in Rio for Canada in the hurdles, this year..
While it's certainly true that teams and countries with superior training programs will have the advantage, running is something that can be done by anybody, regardless of the background or class, unlike something like swimming.
