Let's start with a short review of the pizzas. I've had both of these in the last few days. Note that comparison is based on a cheese pizza.

Totino's - It's a frozen pizza. Costs about $1.25. I think you might be able to get 5 for $5 at some places.
Takes about 15 minutes including the over preheat.
I like it with a crisp crust so I put it straight on the rack.
It's so thin that it's a fine line between overcooking and not melting the cheese thoroughly.
They're square now so when it's done I cut it into 6 approximately equal pieces. Sometimes 8 if my second cut is off.
While eating the pizza, I find myself thinking, "It's hard to believe this is a one dollar pizza. , I forgot to get a drink before I sat down."

    Papa John's - It's delivery. I don't know the cost because I was at a friend's house.
It took about 30 minutes to arrive on Saturday night about 10.
    I got the regular crust.
It's a circle pizza cut into 8 non matching pieces.
It was pretty average and not as good as I remembered it being many years ago.

For the value, Totino's wins hands down. Although I don't really know the prices of the Papa John's, I assume it was more than $5.
If I'm going to eat a pizza in a half hour never to remembered again, I'm going to spend the dollar and put hot sauce on it.

If I'm at someone's house, I'd rather them order delivery from somewhere.

If I want an upscale pizza, I'll go to Olive Garden and sit down.

LOL. I don't touch those. But if I'm going to eat a one dollar pizza, I'm not expecting the processing of the ingredients to be 100% above board...much less in line with any nutritional guidelines.

I was going to say Outback but that puts it slightly out of your reach. That being said, if you didn't order an appetizer and just had water, you could probably swing it.
If you want upscale and include drinks/appetizers, I'd suggest Applebee's. They have some great combo's that will know your socks off. Make sure you get reservations though if you're taking a lady.

Maybe I misunderstood. If you're talking pizza, easily Olive Garden with Johnny Carrino's as a close second.

Well there is Fridays, or Chilis with the pizza flingers. Or if you can step up your game just a little your gf/wife/escort will be impressed by a dinner at Bubba-Gump Shrimp House.

So here is my take. If I am at home, chillin chillin mindin my business then I might go for the Totinos. I actually do the exact same thing. Throw that bad boy on the rack with some leftover bbq. If no bbq is involved then it gets hit with a healthy dose of Cholula or Tapatio. This pizza isn't gourmet but it gets the job done.

    on the other hand

When it comes to Papa J's, I ALWAYS get the thin crust and never the regular crust. Throw some of their seasoning on it and hit it with the HS and it's good to go.

I will say though, it's been a while since I have had either. When I was living the bachelor lifestyle, my freezer stayed packed with Totinos. It went great with Pabst.

I always still have some Totino's on hand. With my daughter's crazy schedule, we really only have one or two sit down meals a week. So in between, it's a combination of frozen dinners, sandwiches, or picking something up. Used to always be picking something up but that gets expensive pretty fast. Having dollar pizzas once in a while somewhat offsets a $25 fast food bill.

Do you Dr. yours up? Or do you just go in as is?

I remember hanging out with buddies watching the world cup in the early morning hours and having stacks of Totinos ready to go along with a couple of cases of beer.

LMAO!!!! Ive got a few of these in the freezer right now. They used to be round, now they are square. I always add extra cheese and pepperoni to mine. I hook that up!!!! Not bad for a $1.83 pizza. Oh yeah, letting the crust get crisp is the key to.
