yeah..Spurs staying power is unheard of relative to their market in any sport..Imagine Leicester being in contention for EPL for near two decades

the Cavs were ty, then Good, then ty, then Good, then probably ty again in 2019, and the Spurs would still be a mid 50s-win team all along.

I don't see how the Spurs are rivals with the Rockets. The two never cross paths in the playoffs, which isn't the Spurs fault but it is what it is. Being the closest NBA team to one another alone just isn't going to cut it. Historically, the Rockets are way bigger rivals with the Jazz, Thunder/Sonics and even the Lakers. If the Clippers had more fans, then they'd be higher on the list because of recent years.

Im talking about WC, Spurs got ousted every time there was a minute chance of a rivlary.

    2000 - SA 4th seed - Loses to 5th Seed Suns.
    2004- Lose to Lakers.
2006- Lose to 4th seed Dallas , when SA was the 1 seed.
    2008- Lose to Lakers.

The only team I remember them playing consistently in those years was the lakers, and that record is 4-2 advantage lakers. As for the celtics that was a rivalry because they were not in the same conference, so in playoff basketball they can only meet in the finals. smartass.

Now I've seen people moving the goalposts to amend ty arguments when someone else beats their point by demanding they show even more proof to debunk their bad opinion . .but moving it closer to pretend like your ty point actually had merit?

You have a really ty and inconsistent definition of "rivalry".

OPs list 4/6 from the west... Playing Miami twice makes it s rivalry ? And Detroit , once IIRC? Lol the only rivalry they had recently is with the lakers, and they own that. The most recent win they had was the Dwight led lakers? Lol

You act like the lakers were making the playoffs and waiting for the Spurs every year. what were the Lakers doing in 05 when they get a chance at third straight rematch? How about 06 and 07? What about 12 to 15? Why can't the Lakers hold up their end of the deal?

And why is losing in a series not a b2b rematch?

Are you pretending those 8 straight losses (or however many times) the Lakers suffered at the hand of the Celtics not a rivalry because the Lakers lost every time?

This has got to be the most ing re ed way I've ever seen of trying to prop up "repeats" as something relevant, tbh can always count on lakerfan to reach new lows

I don't see how a team who fails to even make the playoffs nearly half the time during Duncan's tenure is a "rival" whereas the Suns, Mavs, Thunder, etc aren't.

Own up to it. You're creating a pigeon-holed definition to exclude everyone but the Lakers because they happened to not lose one extra series so it wasn't even. Meanwhile your bad definition excludes so many historic rivalries that the term might's well not even exist based on your awful logic.

Sorry man but that just doesn't cut it.

Man, if you told me 2 years ago none of LBJ/Wade/Bosh would be on Miami roster at the start of 2016-2017 season ..What a fast implosion for the Heat franchise!

Relish what you have while it lasts Spurs fans!
