They sort of squished everything into the end. For a couple of episodes it drug. One episode left and still a lot of questions to answer. I'm wondering if the final episode will be 90 minutes like the first one.
It feels like this being 8 episodes it's jammed up a bit but I think they have done a good job all things considered

so what was the point of the cat?
Great finale.
Cat was a metaphor for Nas
I was left unsatisfied with that ending.
I was too. Overall the series was good but with all the buildup the payoff was a bit of a letdown.
Great mini series overall.. I looked forward to every episode.... but going in to the finale I sort of knew I was going to be let down, so i'm okay with how it ended.
the kiss was kinda lame tbh...
The closing argument by Turturro was pretty good.
Easily the best part of the finale tbh
Off topic I realize, but, I did not want to start a separate thread=Does anyone have any knowledge, recommendation for the series "The Killing?"
I'd appreciate it.
I liked it, but the first season is probably the best.
I agree. I stopped watching a few episodes into the second season.
Thank you. Luckily that is the Season I've got.
Enjoyed it but thought it was kind of corny how Naz ended up getting tatted up, shaving his head, smoking crack, and being the right hand of the most powerful guy at Rikers. Seemed more realistic and intriguing when he was just a quiet, Pakistani college student tbh.
Got in the middle of episode 8 the courtroom verdict, which was good. Is that the last ep of the season? Of the series period?
Earlier eps here and there I checked it out and found it sleep inducing.
Finished this over a few days. Thought it was pretty good.
I kept thinking that Freddie was going to get killed which would leave Naz on his own.
and btw...Naz stared at that bj for wayyyy too long.
Pretty solid acting all around. Some of the courtrooms scenes were not very believable. Especially as to the expert witness and Trevor.
Not sure if I would have followed the show if I was waiting on episodes week to week.
But 7/10.
I noticed he's listed as an Executive Producer during the opening credits.
and is it just me that thinks inmate Naz looks like Manu?
they had finished episode 1 with gandolfini doing the lawyer role ... i wish we could see that tbh.....
finished the first two episodes, wasn't expecting it to be this good tbh. glad hbo can still deliver at times.
rip.Fans of HBO’s latest drama “The Night Of” might have noticed something odd in the credits — the late James Gandolfini is listed as an executive producer despite the fact that he passed away suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 51 in June 2013.
If you’re wondering why the late star has producing credits on “The Night Of,” it’s because the series, based on a U.K. television program called “Criminal Justice,” was a passion project of Gandolfini’s that he was set to produce and star in before his untimely death.
HBO initially passed on the project, but eventually gave it a limited series order. Gandolfini filmed the pilot in late 2012, then HBO picked it up just a month before Gandolfini died. After his death, HBO and the producers decided to move ahead with the project and credit Gandolfini as an executive producer.
John Turturro eventually replaced the late actor in the role of attorney John Stone, who is defending Pakistani-American college student Nasir Khan (Riz Ahmed), accused of murdering a girl on New York’s Upper West Side.
“Jim had a very clear idea of how he would play Stone. It was very physical. A really, very sort of physical relationship with the character and how he wanted to play it,” says Tranter. “He talked about it very much in terms of the physique.”
“[Gandolfini] very much wanted to do it and I wanted him to do it,” says Zaillian. “But as much as I would have loved to have done it with Jim, this has really become John’s part. They’re both great actors.”
The end was sort of predictable.....still a lot of good lessons for everyone in this show....solid 8 out of 10
Show started solid, then it got stupid and got a ty end.
