I'm not a liar. I said it was probably between 19.8 or 20.10 or so. Your videos and Googlng make me think it wasn't in the 19's. So it probably was 20-20.1. Which I've reflected in my avatar (the picture under my name on the left). That being said, it could have been 19 something. There's a 20% chance it was. Based on Probabilities.

Noah Lyles who broke the HS 200m record in 2016, is the pin up boy in Track & Field News magazine. And he never ran a 20.00.

So you are faster than this?

Tommie Smith was histories first sub 20.00 sprinter, he was the greatest 200m sprinter the world had ever seen up til 1968.

    How great was Tommie Smith?

He was world ranked in the 100, 200 and 400.

He was histories first sub 20.00, and histories first sub 44.0 4x4 split.

He would hold the world record at 200 and 400m.

He beat the great Lee Evans (1968 Olympic 400m gold) at a meet in San Jose.

Prior to the 1968 Olympics he ran the anchor leg on a 4x1 vs our USA team. At the final exchange he is a solid meter down to Jimmy Hines (won the Oly 100m gold) but it didn't matter, he ran him down.

First time I saw him in person was at a meet in Fresno, he started off a 4x2 anchor a solid 10 yards down to Bernie Rivers of New Mexico, the crowd went crazy with...WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO as Smith ran Rivers down to take the win.

Carlos WR was disallowed because of illegal es.

Smith could have anchored both the 4x1 and 4x4 relays to WR's if given the chance.

As we all know everybody is actually decellerating in the latter stages of all sprint race (60 exception). BUT....if ever we had a sprinter where ya could swear he wasn't decellerating at all, it wasTommie Smith.

He grew up in Lemoore, that's about 60 miles west of where I;m sitting. I worked with a guy named Willie Neal (uncle of stud NFL fullback Lorenzo Neal) who ran on the same HS 4x1 with Tommie.

Good stuff Avante, you amaze me.

    So what about Bob Hayes?

    Cool~~~

Hayes was just a football player who just happened to be the worlds fastest human. He was a RB in HS, FAMU. He would hold 13 WR's in his career ranging from the 60 to the 200m. The first sub 6.0, the first sub10.00 (windy 9.91). And at 5-11 190 pounds he ws as physically imposing as anyone out there today, and if he'd ran today instead of the early 60's he is giving Bolt all he can handle. Keep in mind he ran on dirt tracks and was out of the sport before he turned 22. He did all his..WOW...as just a college kid.

This is the greatest display of speed ever seen up to this point in time.

Due to injuries to Mel Pender (Army) and Trenton Jackson (Illinois), we had to run our 200m guys Richard Stebbins (Grambling) and Paul Drayton (Villanova) so the handoffs in the 4x1 were weak which left Bullet Bob in a hole, he didn;t stay there long, this is amazing.

On that second leg we had Gerry Ashworh, he would be the last white sprinter on a USA Olympic 4x1 team, and the last sprinter from the Ivy League (Dartmouth) to run on our Olympic team.

    Wow!

    So what about Herschel Walker?

    Cool~~~

Walker was never going to be a "great" sprinter, but he could have ran a 10.15ish (10.23PR) if track had been his sport. As a RB he was the classc I back, so he was limited to a particular role. He wasn't all that elusive and he couldn;t cut back, he was a hit a hole, bounce off a backer then out run a DB. If used as just an I back he would have been more succesful at the NFL level than he was.

Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson and Marcus Dupee the classic example of big black and fast.
