Avante, what about Houston McTear?
Cool~~~
As just a junior in HS he tied the 9.0 WR (Ivory Crokett). As a RB at Baker HS he averages over 13 yards a carry.
And he was better indoors where he set 6 WR's in six meets. Too bad he was never ran at a major university, yep...dumb.
The real bummer is there is no video of him.

Not sure what I would do here if not for you Avante. As you can see I'm too stupid to originate threads, so I just tag along behind you and others leeching off them.
Thanks for all this schooling, you are without question DA MAN.
So If I wanted to listen to some classic Piedmont blues, well?

You make threads with Avante in mind or inspired by, then complain, huh?
Dude, get off Avante, ok?
You really haven'rt figure out by now I'm just a troll who happens to know a lot of stuff? Don't call me a pedo...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Now what is that going to do, yep, expose the dumb s here which is funny to me. Look at how you act over Avante.
Move on guy, do other things. to lie about that 20.00 just to mess with Avante says it all. What's funny is you trying so hard to.."see see see me toll Avante"....when you are being worked so easy it's comical.
Go a week without Avante, a thread about Avante, some thread designed to mimic Avante, can you do it?
I don't think you can.

my grandfather told us a lot of stories about bohannon watkins. he said bohannon was one of those guys who was just naturally fast. he would sleep all day long and wake up the morning of a meet, eat a heavy breakfast of grits, bacon, eggs w/cheese and a stack of johnny cakes, get to the track 20 mins before his race, not stretch and smoke the compe ion
theres a rumors that bohannon can dance underwater and not get wet.
If the internet would have been around then, we'd at least know what life dealt him that kept him from playing college football. And possibly the NFL. He was the kid that nowadays, coaches would be at he doorstep asking what his plans were after high school. I'd love to know what happened to him. Probably the same old story about getting involved with the wrong people. Or maybe just loss focus. It's amazing how many high potential kids in high school will get a girlfriend and then put sports second to her. But it's rare to find that guy that will actually realize their potential and give up everything else to reach it.
yup ,malcolm gladwell wrote a book called 'outliers' that dealt with successful athletes. he said it takes roughly 10,000 hours of practice to master a field. 10,000 hours of just doing whatever sport you're playing to be great at it. crazy to think bohannon probably only cracked 5 total practice hours in his short time(races last only 10 or so seconds, he was notorious for skipping practices) and he was a legend. imagine if he had that drive and determination of a usain bolt.
Then there is the Dr.Delano Meriwether story.

In short....
The guy never ran HS or college track, then at 27 he thinks...what the . He then starts training and ends up winning the USA Nationals in a 9.0w.
His story totally unique.

I've heard the 10,000 hours theory. Pretty interesting. You could probably apply that to other fields. Playing an instrument comes to mind. So many kids picking up a guitar and being decent at it. Then think they're going to be a rock start. Not realizing that in most cases, even the guitar player for the tiest band on the radio has put in those kind of hours. Although as opposed to sports, I think it probably takes a lot of luck and the right connections to make it in music.
But I digress...Bohannon was a freak of nature. He reminds of the guys we'd play in pick up games at the local college. Out there smoking between games then come out and show something special that was never developed.
Then there is the Jimmy "Peach Head" Gordon story.
You can't fill out the list.
Because it requires more than names.
Watch this.

Speaking of Bohannan being an asshole.
I heard he had words with Flasterjack that were not so kind. It would be tough having these two characters on the same team it seems. Have you kept up with either? There are rumors they both ballooned up to 275 pounds, and since both were rumored to be around 6 2" it's really a shame. Anyway, I'm sure both got lots of flag football trophies to fall back on since their bodies spill over into other people's seats on airline flights.
You shouldn't listen to all the rumors. Sure, there are a lot of egos involved in my hypothetical team. And yeah...a little bad blood as well. But put all four of us on a track, and there's only one thing that matters. Getting gold. Maybe setting a record. Trust me...even if Flasterjack would have ed Bohannan's mom, those two would still get on the same track and run their asses off.
No, I have no idea what happened to any of those guys.
Always funny watching how know nothings react around those who know their stuff, hahaha~~~~
