Swing voters are torn. They tend to see Clin*ton as smart, know*ledge*able, ex*per*i*enced, and com*pet*ent, but they don’t like or trust her. Many like the fact that Trump is not a politi*cian and speaks his mind. They may even agree, par*tially or totally, with the real es*tate mogul on im*mig*ra*tion or hand*ling ter*ror*ism, but they ques*tion his tem*pera*ment, judg*ment, ma*tur*ity, and un*der*stand*ing of is*sues and policy. The num*bers un*der*score these re*ser*va*tions. The RCP av*er*ages showed Clin*ton with a minus 13.3 net fa*vor*able rat*ing with 41.1 per*cent view*ing her fa*vor*ably and 54.4 per*cent un*fa*vor*ably, mean*ing that if this elec*tion were a ref*er*en*dum on the former sec*ret*ary of State, she would lose. But for*tu*nately for Clin*ton, her rival is Trump, whose net fa*vor*able rat*ing is minus 23.9 per*cent, 35.6 per*cent fa*vor*able, 59.5 per*cent un*fa*vor*able. It kind of re*minds me of the story about the two guys be*ing chased by the bear. It’s not so im*port*ant to be a faster run*ner than the bear, as long as you’re faster than the oth*er guy.
