Anyone have early returns on recruits post-game quotes? There are some floating around, anxious to hear some feedback.
E.J. Holland: Recruits react to Texas' upset win over Notre Dame

QB Tanner Mordecai, Hewitt Midway (2018) — “It was absolutely crazy. Utmost respect for Shane Buechele.”

QB Grant Gunnell, Houston St. Pius X (2019) — “The atmosphere was amazing, and Texas definitely beat a good team."

RB JK Dobbins, La Grange — “It was a very great win. I hope they keep it rolling.”

WR Jalen Reagor, Waxahachie — “Great team coached by great coaches. Got a great win.”

WR Joshua Moore, Yoakum (2018) — “Man, the win was great. They fought all four quarters and never gave up. The fans were into it the WHOLE time. It was pretty impressive to see all of that. Plus, getting to spend time with all the big time recruits and coaches was great as well.”

WR Jalen Preston, Manvel (2018) — “College football is back. It was a good win for Texas and a much needed one. The quarterbacks were the key with there ability to run the ball down the stretch, especially Swoopes. That's a linebackers nightmare.”

WR Stanley Lambert, SA Marshall (2018) — “It was excellent. Best first college game I went to.”

OL Xavier Newman, DeSoto — "It was wild and crazy. They did their thing."

OL Adrian Ealy, East Ascension (La.) —“It was a great win. The team was fighting real hard. Great coaching from the coaching staff. That was a historic game.”

OL Silas Robinson, Yoakum (2018) — “Coach Strong finally got a quarterback. “Let’s ride.”

TE Mustapha Muhammad (2018) — “It was crazy. Lots of noise and tradition going on, and UT played well. Offense looked crisp and balanced. Had some fun too!”

DE Taquon Graham, Temple — “The come up is real, and this will bring a lot of attention everywhere.”

DE Lagaryonn Carson, Liberty-Eylau — “It’s savage season. We here!”
DE Ondario Robinson, Hutto — “It was a great team win, but there's places they need to improve.”

DE Jarell Cherry, Dallas Carter (2018) — "Great universities win big games, and the University of Texas just won a big game. My eyes were opened today."

OLB Josh Clarke, Riverdale (La.) — “That win will open the eyes of a lot of people. They are not the same team from last year. That was a great win. They are ready to compete again. Great win.”

ILB Anthony Hines, Plano East — “It was great to see UT compete at a high level, which I knew they could compete at.”

ILB Alston Orji Rockwall (2018) — “It was an amazing atmosphere and a great game. I’m very lucky to have picked the game of the week. And the fans are some of the most loyal in the nation.”

CB Dayven Coleman, West Mesquite (2018) — “It was the best season opener yet. They have some ballers. I like their secondary a lot and with those fans, it's gone be hard to beat them.”

S Caden Sterns, Cibolo Steele (2018) — "The win was a great one, Texas coming in and causing a huge upset on a great team, and with the fans, and stadium erupting up, it was a great experience. Just everything all around was great."

ATH BJ Foster, Angleton (2018) — “It was unbelievable. They kept fighting and didn't give up just like Texas boys are taught.”

Quotes from DT Marvin Wilson of Bellaire Episcopal (24/7):

"I think they can have a really good season this year," Wilson said. "They've got some dogs there after these last two recruiting classes. I think they are really going to show how much talent they have this season. They are really building things up."

“Coach Bedford is always talking trash,” Wilson said. “He said that he can dunk on me. I know that old man can get off the ground. When I go down there, he always says his back hurts or something like that. He always has an excuse.”

“Coach Strong is a really good dude,” Wilson said. “My mom really loves Coach Strong. She thinks he’s the most phenomenal coach in college football. I think Coach Strong is one of the realist dudes out there. What you see is what you get.”

“Texas has Jordan (Elliott) and Jeff (McCulloch), and I know those guys will take care of me,” Wilson said. “Jordan has been recruiting me. He wants to show me around and said that they are going to ball out. He told me great things about Coach Haley and Coach Strong.”

OL Walker Little of Bellaire Episcopal talks about the Notre Dame game and recruiting (24/7):

"It was one of the best games I've ever been to," Little said. "I really enjoyed myself. I can't wait to watch the rest of the season unfold. I was very impressed by the offense."

“I just want to see good things this season. I’m really hoping they can have a great season. I love Coach (Charlie) Strong. I want him to be successful. I like a lot of the players on that team, so I’m excited for them this season.”

“Texas is definitely still one of my top schools,” Little said. ‘They have been with me throughout the whole process. I have a great relationship with the coaches. I feel really comfortable around them. I like the players. It’s a great school.”

IT-In all the hustle and craziness that ensued after Tyrone Swoopes crossed the goal line to Texas' fans immortality, were recruits as wide-eyed as I've ever seen at a football game.

Eric and I have said," if Texas wins, recruiting will take care of itself."

    Well, I have an addendum.

If Texas wins games in this manner, the recruits won't just ride to Austin, they'll run.

I bumped into a handful for some quick thoughts.

"Oh my God," said Baron Browning. "That was lit." Browning's face was one of shock and awe.

"Can you believe that," said Sam Ehlinger, walking with Walker Little, who by the way is freaking enormous. Just as big as Little is, was his smile. "Amazing."

One guy that this made a serious impression on; Levi Jones, Westlake LB. I'm hearing Jones is seriously considering Texas now and not just from after tonight.

Strong and Ehlinger and made major strides in his recruitment. If Texas wants three LBs in 2017, they could possibly grab Browning, Hines, and Jones. That's too nice.

Also bumped into Marvin Wilson, another giant among giants boasting a giant smile after a giant win. Texas already looked good with Wilson, but after tonight, a little better.

One recruit that didn't make it in was Temple's Taquon Graham. He suffered a hip injury on Friday night and decided to stay home and rest.

I feel strongly he'll be the next Texas pledge and I believe it will happen very soon.

Recruiting is fun again. Let's enjoy the ride.
