Oh yeah. Good call. Those weird scenes that showed the devil coming out of the church. Creepy.

Left Behind. Raised by religious parents, this freaked me out. Made me think of the xtians as assholes and their god as a prick.
    Yah I member those.

What made them extra terrifying was serious adults telling kids that it was seriously going to happen

My boys got scared by Jaws - will not go into the water at the beach - such a pity since we live in Miami.

I didn't like The Omen - scared the living daylights out of me.

Fine citation. Billie Whitelaw as the nanny brings the film into sharp focus. It lags a bit till she comes aboard. Her scene in the hospital room with Remick. Christ-a-mighty.

Brings another scary scene to the fore:::When Karen Black [turns] & throws Oliver Reed out the upstairs window in "Burnt Offerings."

Trilogy of Terror. The zuni doll was scary enough but Karen Black's face at the end of that movie is one of the scariest images I've seen.

I was barely a teenager when "Slither" came out. That one was kind of freaky. And I got to see the hot girl's nipple for a split second.

yeah. We've talked about this one before Cub. I mention this movie to people in real life and I don't think I've ever come across anyone who remembers it. My bed faced the door and I don't know how many nights I'd lie there and see that chauffeur push the coffin through it.

But I don't think I'd call this movie cheesy. Maybe a bit dated. But it's one of the superior takes on the haunted house genre. Great final scene with the photos.

Definitely not "cheesy." The kids reaction in the dream sequence is correct and fuels the scene. The production told him how to play it and the child nailed it there.

So, do think she throws him out that window, or, does he dive thru it as a like a suicide?

I think one problem with the film is that it has a television feel to it. It did back in '76 when the wife and I went.
