I'm an unapologetic Joe Bags fan and that's the city where I was born, so I'd be OK with that. I always root for Baltimore once the Bills are out of contention by Week 12 or so. Same with baseball...the Marlins collapsed but the O's are hanging on for dear life

Yes, half their roster isn't on IR this year.

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints waited until the 11th hour. But they finally agreed to contract extension Wednesday, according to league sources -- four days before the quarterback's self-imposed Week 1 deadline.

The extension will be announced as a five-year deal but contains an automatic void to two years, sources told ESPN's Ed Werder, meaning Brees is contractually committed to Saints for this season and next only. His $20 million salary this season and $24.25 million for next season -- a total of $44.25 million -- is fully guaranteed, the sources said.

The deal also includes a no-trade clause and forbids the Saints from using their franchise tag on the quarterback. In essence, the Saints get Brees under contract for one additional season but by spreading the contract over five years they significantly reduce Brees' $30 million cap hit for 2016, which was the highest for any player in NFL history.

Ridiculous. 'Aints just can't help ing up their cap.

I have the Ravens a solid 10–6, 5th seed, and a playoff victory in Houston before losing a tight one in New England.

    Why?

And I don't have Atlanta making the playoffs despite a solid season. Their conference record and inability to beat Carolina and make plays when they matter most does them in this season.

Still 11–5 is a solid bet considering their schedule and the talent they have... Dan Quinn is good stuff.

    That is an excellent point.

I'm a huge Steve Smith Sr. fan, and I will never doubt him, but I'm going to reserve my rights to see how him and Flacco look after an extended time off. Flacco hadn't impressed me in a while before his injury.

I do think you guys will contend for your division, but I just see Cincinatti being too much. I really like that team.

The Bungles have to be the most overrated team of the generation.....

Let's see, their offense is very mediocre outside of Green; their QB is borderline sewage. They have a defense that's going to sniff top 10 but they tend to crumple when it counts. They're the Atlanta Hawks of the NFL; always in the mix, perennial pretenders.

This year, with the return of the Ravens, the Bungles are going to find themselves on the outside looking in... .500, which is indicative of that team and where they belong. They'll have a couple big wins... but their schedule is going to be too much, just brutal this year outside of the Browns games, Bills, Dolphins, and lone Eagle game.

Objectively, I like Cinci. But we'll see. They've been riding this bubble for too long.

As far as SSSr goes, it's up in the air. Apparently, his calf looked awful less than a month ago. I am fine with him being worked in slowly. Just has to peak in the playoffs. Flacco can use this time to get used to his other receivers. He should look better now that he has three burners and Pitta back. And Dixon is probably the closet thing the Ravens have had to Prime Ray Rice in a while.

    8–8

Great home team, lousy road team, tough schedule, home schedule compromised by losing a home game to London.
