better to take timeouts to prevent the giants from soaking up 40 seconds than to take a timeout during your own possession when you'll be hurrying up anyway. saving ~35 seconds by taking timeouts when the giants have the ball, saving ~15-20 seconds by taking a timeout during your own possession
its simple clock management/mathematics to take your timeouts that way... and its shocking to me that a lot of coaches dont opt to do that
