From What I'm reading, I doubt expansion happens at this point.

Possibly a cruise one of these days with the wifey so I can see that part of the world, but that's about it.

You've got a relatively young team on their first road trip of the year and the game starts at 9:30 p.m. Texas time.

It won't be a surprise if they're sluggish, but this should be a double-digit victory imho.

One of the insiders who spoke with ESPN said he believes that boost will hinge on how consistently the Cougars can produce on the field.

In 2010, when it went 5-7, UH barely registered in its own market, even though the Cougars went to the Conference USA championship game under Kevin Sumlin in the season before and in the season after.

Only with a high-powered offense, exciting quarterback in*Greg Ward Jr. and the pre-eminent up-and-coming coach in the game in Herman did the Cougars penetrate the Houston market.

With Herman there, and Ward they are ratings. If they get in a P5 conference, recruiting Houston for other schools will get a bit tougher. And if Herman leaves, they will make another splash hire.

It's going to be a chicken and egg kind of thing. When we weren't good enough to be ranked weren't playing on any real networks. , our game last week was somehow on the goddamn CW network. They have been delivering the ratings but if we are going to keep Herman and keep delivering the kind of teams that will be worth watching then all this expansion hype needs to turn into something real.
