I agree with Skyrim and GTA V for sure.. Skyrim for the moddability alone, so much time wasted tweaking everything.
1. Skyrim: This game is so huge and everything in it is top notch. I have done multiple playthroughs of this game both as sneak thieves using stealth and hack and slash types, and it works well either way. The soundtrack is probably the best I have heard in a game and I love the mountain setting, it's like playing in the Grand Tetons.
2. Dying Light: It feels like you're in a really grimy 70s B-movie and the hand to hand combat is so much fun. The game is really something on the violence factor, and if you get the DLC you get a really satisfying ending to the game.
3. Bioshock Infinite: I love the art style in this game, they really capture the setting of the early 1900s America. And then the way they tie quantum mechanics into the storyline is awesome. I love how Elizabeth is able to cause rips into other parallel universes to bring you cover for instance in fights. She is a great character too. It cracked me up hearing Cindy Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun being played on an organ at the beach and then in one of the rips in spacetime you hear the real song being played from a radio 85 years in the future.
4. Witcher 3: Graphically this is as impressive as it gets right now. I love the lighting both indoors and outside. The third person fighting is a lot of fun and this game might have even more content than Skyrim. Lots of really interesting and well-written, well-acted characters. The Gwent minigame is a lot of fun too, definitely don't skip learning it.
5. GTA V: Los Santos has to be the most interesting city ever portrayed in a game. There is just so much to do in this game. Trevor is easily my favorite character in the series since Tommy Vercetti in Vice City. This game is hilarious, lol tattooing a penis on Lazlow or starting a mass shooting at a marine base when they insult you for being Canadian. It's also amazing graphically with responsive driving controls this time around, unlike GTA IV which was wrecked by the terrible driving.
Honorable mention: Far Cry 4, Portal 2, Firewatch, Tomb Raider 2013

I don't play enough video games to yave my own top 5...but these three are the best games ive played in the last 5 years
Last of us
Tomb Raider
GTAV didnt finish but I played 10-13 hours
That's a lot of years, hard to rank them all, lots of pretty good games in different genres... here's a short list in no particular order:
Bulletstorm
Saint's Row The Third
Fallout New Vegas
Crysis
Rage
Far Cry 3
Dishonored
Max Payne 3
Borderlands 2
Portal 2
Rayman Origins
GTA V
Bioshock Infinite
Saints Row IV
Far Cry 4
Tomb Raider
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Metro Redux
Skyrim
Fallout 4
I was thinking about putting Blacklist in there as well.. They did a good job with the replay value with the multiple play styles and gadgets and .
The Last of Us probably left the biggest impression on me as far as storylines/characters go.
Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Dragon Age: Inquisition all delivered in different ways in the sword/magic genre I like so much.
GTA V and Fallout 4 are honorable mentions. You can throw Uncharted 2 in there also (older then five years I know, but the remastered isn't, and it was badass).
You mean Crysis 3 or Crysis 1? I was really bored by Crysis 3 after the first two levels once the awe of the graphics wore off. Crysis 1 was a legendary game but that is from 2007 (though it still looks amazing graphically today).
That's a weird way of saying Ratchet and Clank tbh
I liked them all, tbh... they might not necessarily make it to my top 5, but they were all a lot of fun, besides the wow gfx...
The last of US btw is the best game Ive ever played...only reason why anyone wouldbt have them on the list is because they have never played it.
Skyrim - bum said it already, co-sign that description
Last of Us - best written characters OAT tbh
Journey - artsy fartsy good
Destiny - expansions make this game on point imo.
Smash 4 - go pro on 1v1 or party it with 8 fighters at once is cool
GTA V - Best GTA game of the series (even better than my sentimental fav, Vice City). Great characters.
The Last of Us - Game was top notch in every way possible.
Deus Ex Human Revolution - Never actually played the original but was a fan of the Cyberpunk theme. Still a better ending than Mass Effect 3.
Walking Dead (Telltale) - One of the few games in the past 2 years that engaged me form a storyline perspective. Excellent series.
Max Payne 3 - First action game I had played in like 2 years. Took me back to the original.
Rocket League
Dark Souls (series)
Civ V
Borderlands 2
League of Legends
Starcraft II
Also I really need to finish TLoU.
And I need to play TW3. I've been wanting to play through 2 first, but it's pretty frustrating.
You can probably play the whole trilogy waiting for Star Citizen to come out. All the Elder Scrolls too tbh.
I dont play many games and definitely cant even come up with 5 top games over the past 5 years.
But..
Shadow of Mordor
The Last of Us
Uncharted 4
i bought witcher 2 like 4 years ago and i still can't beat that damn game. It's just not fun for me.
That's the thing -- it's not the time commitment. W2 just feels like a grind to me. It's... fun, but it's not engaging. Love the characters in the game but it's so stilted by the control scheme that it's hard for me to play for more than 30 minutes at a time.
I haven't played Witcher 2 for more than 10 minutes so I can't comment, but the controls are awesome in Witcher 3 if you use a controller. I don't like it at all with mouse and keyboard though. I strongly prefer using my XBox 360 controller for any third person game.
So is The Last of Us good enough to justify buying a Playstation Pro? If I did I'd probably get that remaster, Uncharted 4, the God of War III remaster, and the new God of War. Damn I wish they'd release those games on PC so I could play them all at 60 fps. I hate the idea of buying a console just for four games.

It's considered by many to be the greatest game ever on a playstation console. So if you think of it like that, probably.
Alternatively you could get a PS3 for cheap and get the original Last of Us.
The framerate looks too ty on the PS3 version of the game.
If I get that game it'll either be on ProStation 4 or PoorStation 4. Maybe PoorStation will get cheap AF once Pro releases. I still gotta see what the new God of War looks like though. That looked incredible at E3.
