...Probably a load. It was up there a good two minutes before Allen backed into that parking spot.
tee, hee.
I remember working in a Costco in Austin, years ago, right after Katrina and Rita was heading towards Houston. The store was selling generators and people were coming in, in droves to buy them. The lines expended all the way to the end of the store and around the walls.
I worked the cell phone kiosk, at the time, which was three aisles back from the front and close to the entrance.
I watched all these generators flying out the door. Tons of money flying through those registers.
The line extended in front of, and beyond my kiosk all day. I asked one older guy with two generators on his pallet "You really think you're going to need those?", he replied "Young man (I was young then), you ever been through a hurricane before?".
I replied "I grew up in Corpus Christi since the 70's. I've been through them. And buddy, we're in Austin! Not Houston! You're going to bring them back. Good luck."
I watched the Costco GM walking around with the biggest -eating grin on his face... I swear he was wringing his hands greedily like Mr. Burns watching all these purchases.
Watching the drool fall from his lips, I told him "You smile now, wait for the returns in two days."
Yeah... Austin got gentle showers and a nice breeze. The returns were GLORIOUS in their bulk. I never saw him so exasperated. He went and bragged to his division head about that day!
Now?
That's what the people taking those online orders were feeling in that moment in '13.
Emotionally, we all were like that prick in that moment, tbh. 2014 makes me feel more comfortable about all of this and I feel at peace, but- They were selling our ...
...and the best part of winning is not winning, but, not losing.
Redemption is a pretty nice thing also too... Winning never feels so sweet, except after the most bitter of losses.
You cannot redeem '13. It's gone. There is no relationship to '14. That's your cross to bear. Part of your history, your white paper, your story. You'll always have an empty spot where '13 rested albeit mere moments, the temporal boundless.
Of course there is. Stop projecting your own bleakness. Life continues and it continues at a continuous pace. How you take it in is on you.
I've enjoyed the redemption very much, thank you.
Yes, life continues, but, you cannot redeem what is lost forever. You didn't get close in '13. You won it in '13. Then it was taken from you and given to another. You cannot redeem what belongs to another. And it's got nothing to do with "you."
It has everything to do with "me". That's why you are after "me". Your attempt to tell me life are all about separate moments that cannot be taken back are amusing. History is all about connections and continuations. You deny that?
A failed science experiment does not, and could never lead to some sort of fruition, or success? Tell that to Tesla, Newton, etc, etc...
Talk about grade school ignorance.
No... I'm happy. I'm at peace. I felt the low of losing and I felt the highest of highs of redemption.
You, nor anyone else can take that away. No matter your inane attempts to try to halve me from what I already enjoyed. It already happened and I still revel in it to this moment. Eat that cherry pie and let it stain your lips, big daddy.
We won. A generation will pass before the team you try to antagonize with will have any success and this team has won a 'chip in between then and later.
You got a 'chip gap in your record as of this moment. Nothing Kobe could do about it and now he's gone. Gone forever. Tim got the last 'chip. Kobe hadn't got to taste the postseason in almost a half decade, poor soul.
The Lakers have been fun for quite some time now.
Ever since Dirk decided to take out a broom and sweep them in 2011 they were the laughing stock of the whole Basketball world. That 4-0 was the rock of ice that cracked the Lakers. Kobe was the anchor that dragged them deeper and deeper and deeper into the abyss. Now, after they are finally freed from that anchor, they can start their way up Marianas Trench.
His career ended with the Achilles outside of the last quarter of the last game he gave little and took so much. We still won't be very good buto as long as we improve over the season I'm cool and Scott is gone ...
Just like lakers didn't redeem 84. It is gone forever. Or 04. Or 08. Or the other dozen or so times they lost to the Celtics.
You seem to be the one with the hardest time letting it go.
Absolutely. You ain't walking away from '13, sassafras.
No in' way.
Kobe: 5
the tired old bag Duncan: 2nd 5th
Kobe: 5
Dirk: just the 1
