I commented on how he's so much more confident now...and he knows he's miles ahead of everyone else.
Last year he was coming of a 16ppg season with an Allstar big averaging 23ppg joining the team so he might have had a few question marks...
He doesnt now and he talks like he owns the team.

The only thing that mattered to Duncan and Ginobili was winning. I don't think I've ever heard them talk about individual stats or wanting to lead the team in offensive/defensive categories. The more Kawhi talks, the more he reveals his true character. Better to remain silent and be though a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
I hope for Kawhi's sake, he was misquoted badly.

Seriously doubt Kawhi was beating chest discussing how wonderful he is. Perhaps he was addressing the fact that he was a leader on both sides of the court and will need to continue that trend.
They were asking him about leadership and Pop more eloquently explained that he's the guy who would lead on the court with his effort, the quality of his play, effort in practices, work ethic, etc. He's definitely led the team on both ends last season. That is his way of leading.
But he's definitely a lot more confident and he should be, and the team probably will continue to need that and more. I didn't see him as a negative. Kawhi can sometimes say something awkwardly, like how he said he wanted to be the MVP last season, then had to clarify later that he wanted to play at an MVP level. It's obvious he's ambitious. He wants a HoF career and I have no doubts he wants accolades. I think all players that reach that level have a fire burning inside. Timmy just kept that quiet. Kawhi did too, but he's now being more outspoken.

The quote by itself sounds terrible but in context it's what most of us have been wanting to hear from Leonard.

Finally we agree on something...Kawhi reveals he wants to be a true leader, like Tim.
Tim always mentioned Parker and Manu as pivotal parts of the Spurs success.
The same thing did Kawhi with that quote about winning.

As a good, positive leader, he mentioned his teammate.
On other hand, Aldridge didn't mention Kawhi when he answered the question about Spurs' leadership, he said he was a leader in Portland and he'll see what happens here.
But Kawhi already knows what a true leader would say.
