    Love the 4x1.

Let's look at those who excelled on the individual legs.

Lead off. Here ya want that guy with a blazin' start who can also cook a curve.

    Nesta Carter Jamaica
    Mike Marsh UCLA
    Jon Drummond TCU
    Andre Cason Tex A&M

Long second leg, here ya want a guy who can cook a 200m, if ya handoff early in the zone and handoff late, this sprinter can run the largest % of the 4x1.

    Leroy Burrell Houston
    Ato Boldon Trinidad/UCLA
    Justin Gatlin Tennessee
    Bernard Williams Florida

Once again ya need a guy who can run a solid 200 because of the curve.

    Calvin Smith Alabama
    Shawn Crawford Clemson
    Dennis Mitc Florida
Bruny Surin Canada....not a 200 guy at all, hmmmm?

On anchor ya need that guy who has that great 100m PR, a guy with superior speed endurance. He decellerates slower than the norm.

    Bullet Bob Hayes Florida A&M
    Carl Lewis Houston
    Usian Bolt Jamaica
    Donovan Bailey Canada

But, ya can be compe ive running average sprinters if the stick work is great. A French team once ran a WR without any "great" sprinters there. Both Japan and China have ran great times using very average sprinters.

SFS being my equal on sprint knowledge, what is your take on this? Anyone who ran a 20.00 as a kid I need to pay attention to.

The USA had a faster sprinter (100m times) on every leg over Japan, so what happened?

The fastest sprinters in the world in 2016, where are the Japs? The second fastest 4x1 team in the world with their fastest sprinter where?

I have fun watching it go from....YOU GOOGLED THAT...to...ok ok so ya own a bunch of almanacs.

67 years old people, seen most of what I talk about and what I didn't I read about in books, not almanacs, ok?

There I sat on the couch at around 6/7 my cousin Eva Dean had some of her girlfriends over, some singer on the tv. Yep....Elvis...on the old Ed Sullivan Show.

Imagine watching the Dallas Texans play the New York ans.

Imagine watching the all white SWC/SEC play football.

Imagine turning on the radio and hearing.....

    Imagine watching Cassius Clay fight.

    Gorgeous George rassle.

Looking out over the fantail and there stands Viet Nam.

    Seeing this as it happened....

I could ask SFS 100 questions about sprinting/sprinters and he couldn't answer one.

Show me one thing you learned about sprinting/sprinters from SFS, well?

Southern U had a great 4x1 relay back in the day.

    leadoff...Harvey Nairn....hurdler.long jumper
    second leg...Webster Johnson...a 400m sprinter (his twin Robert also a 400m man)
third. leg...????? see if SFS knows, ok?
anchor....George Anderson....the top ranked 100m sprinter in the world in 1965.

I learned that SFS is much more complete in his analysis of track. And that he could wup your bott as a middle schooler which is sad but understandable. See below. And thank god you are miniscule in the crotch. God gave the Phililpino children a bit of a break seeing that you lacked monstrosity in one crucial area.

Goodwin and Roberson were Olympians, but in the long jump.

So just who was the first speedy black NFLer?

He won the NCAA and the USA Nationals in the same season.

    1944
    F: 100 meters; S/F: 6/6; D: 18 JUN
    1 Claude Young 10.5
    2 Edward Conwell 10.7e
    3 Barney Ewell
    4 Herbert Thompson
    5 William Mathis
    6 Herbert Douglas

Barney Ewell ran for Penn State and was one of the great sprinters.

    1939 (USA Champ.) 10.3ew 3
    1940 (USA Champ.) 10.4 [10.34] 2
    1941 (USA Champ.) 10.3 =MR 1
    1944 (USA Champ.) NA 3
    1945 (USA Champ.) 10.3 =MR 1
    1947 (USA Champ.) NA 2
    1948 (Olympic Trial) 10.2(10.32) TR 1
    1948 (USA Champ.) 10.6 1

So for a stubby little footballer to beat Barney Ewell, was big.
It's just so damn funny watching you little people and how ya act over this. Ya know I know all that stuff but ya MUST play all that bull , hahahahaha~~~~~~~~

I notice nobody ever tries to give Avante a trivia contest, and I know why.....ya don't know any questions to ask...hahahahahaha~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    1. Who was the last white sprinter to run on a USA Olympic 4x1 relay?

    2. Give me the names of 4 sprinters who beat Jesse Owens in the sprints?

    3. The first Olympic sprinter to play in the NFL (Thorpe was a decathlete)

    4. What HOF NFLer was also a World Champion pro rassler?

    5. Who was the last Ivy Leaguer to run on a USA Olympic 4x1 relay?
