Manu feeling important is taking 10 shots in 16 minutes.Hopefully he's healthy all season tBH
you're really good at being wrong. manu wasn't feeling overtly important. it's called a 39 year old playing his first preseason game of the year.
Yep. He should really start passing the ball
Why no criticism for your boy Kyle? Dude was a non factor as usual while Manu brought it like he always does even if it's just a preseason game, turnover prone or not atleast he has heart and still quicker than Anderson at age 39.
Bc I didn't watch this game. Manu is the one using the expression about feeling important not me lol. Honestly it shocks me he uses that phrase. If it was Tony talking about feeling important, we would never hear the end of it.![]()
I don't know if you saw his interview, but he talked about his performance in terms of wanting to still feel important for the team.
He also wrote in his column about it.
so a player on a team wants to feel important? wow, you're really onto something.
lol you obviously don't want to get real... It's fine if you don't. I just called it like it was.
Could've been maybe a language barrier type thing. Tim would say he would keep playing as long as he felt he could help the team and things to that nature. I think that's probably how Manu meant it. Doesn't want to be like guys who are on the court but should probably be retired
Manu knows he's important to the team, I don't think he felt like insecure or anything about his role. ( not sure if maybe that's what you got)
Agreed. It always annoyed the out of me that preseason games were never televised.
what, you got a bleacher report that says manu was feeling important and that's why he put up 10 shots?
i used to feel bad for sagirl. not anymore though. she doesn't know tbh.
sagirl says i don't wanna get real... she's the one who said anderson has proven himself in the nba![]()
I think Manu has his ego. It's not like he said he wants to feel important but doesn't know what that means. He knows what he means. It's disingenous to assume he didn't mean what he said. He could have said he wanted to be impactful, but he said he wanted to feel "important."
I do see his ego coming through with so many questions being asked by the press about Pop wanting to develop others. It's an uncomfortable question to begin with. But it does mean he's not going to defer to others and that is the truth.
Again didn't watch this game, but his use of the words wanting to feel important twice already is not a mistake.
thanks for sharing ace. appreciated.![]()
sagirl: i know manu more than you. his ego was showing in a game i didn't watch![]()
You're a dumbass. The Spurs have traditionally not aired preseason games. It's no big deal because the games don't count for . Stop getting your panties in a bunch.
there's a lot of people here who wanna watch preseason games. if you don't want to then don't post in a thread concerning them.
the spurs don't typically air preseason games, improving -thewriter
SAGirl honestly I think you're reading too much into this
"Wanting to feel important" means he still wants to contribute and play his role, he doesn't want to become last year's Matt Bonner
He's not gonna take 15 shots a night and he's gonna pass the ball to Kyle and JSimms, don't worry
Look forward to that TBH. First game of Manu back and it's a long season.
Can't say what happens with J.Simms ultimately, but hoping for the best with him. If he doesn't play a more solid game, the occasional dunk notwithstanding, it's pointless to even bring up the subject of Manu deferring to him. He hasn't earned it. I thought they wanted to get J.Simms time in the rotation, but so far he seems to be the 11th man and IMO he might lose that spot to Bertans.
I can't say I like Dedmon yet and I have my concerns with Lee.
This is what worries me:
