Not all on Manu though. Sh** the Spurs could've had Boban on the cheap over over priced TOSB Gasoft.
So you're saying you would rather have Baynes on this team in place of Gasol? Why?

Just finished watching... what's important about this game is that the Spurs are undefeated when Manu plays so far... that a good sign going into the season, tbh...
    Best Spurs Guard for sure...

Also, Kyle with another question mark game when it comes to being aggressive, IMO... In the 1st half, they looked for him quite a bit, and you wouldn't know he was playing at times...
That wasn't a question mark game, it was a thud of a dud, man. Dude showed nothing. Zero, zilch in the way of improvement, or an expansion of his abilities to help this team whatsoever.
Your fears are being proven to fruition, unfortunately.

That's assuming he'd take the shot

He's got valuable skills and tools that the spurs can utilize, but if hes out there playing like the Tony Allen of All Tony Allen..he wont make it.
Tony Allen is actually a slasher who doesn't even spot up, Garino is more of in the Roberson mold who is also known for passing up shots.

Yeah, I meant Boban. Okay. You think Jimmer, if given the chance, would be an NBA All-Pro and Boban's already an All-Star on offense. Cool... I'm getting your mindset.

    Are you Mormon? Just asking.

Excuse my chiming in, BillMc. SAGirl, have you forgotten that Pop rolled with Ayres for TWO years?

Btw, where's your next stop, BillMc (if you are still awake)?
You are absolutely making me But Ayers was eventually overtaken by others in the rotation. I do know his first season with the team he got an extended look, but it became obvious he wasn't going to cut it. Mercifully Baynes was much better. By the way, this was a nice game from Baynesie (no Boban sighting hah?)

Yeah, but Bertans didn't have such a great game. As for Dedmon, I'm seriously getting worried. David Lee looked good thought

In the second half, Bertans was just lost on D. He kept leaving his man to chase the ball. There was one play Kawhi was closing on a guy at the 3P line, and Bertans charged out too. Looked really bad, and left an easy score for the Pistons. The very next play, he left his man to chase the ball again. He loses sight of man or ball way too often. He has good length and seems like he could be an asset on the glass. But if he defends like that, there aren't going to be nearly as many rebounds to pull down.

I'm still hopeful that Simmons and Dedmon didn't get worse in the offseason, and will play better than what we've seen so far. The bad news is, it doesn't look like they got better, and the team really needed them to. Simmons doesn't operate well in traffic, which means he needs a playmaker on the floor. With Manu only playing 8 minutes, the Spurs are desperately short on bench playmakers. Simmons wants to create - but he can't. That limits his value. He better shore up his D if he wants to stay on the roster.

I have to admit, Lee looked better than I expected. But you could still see that his D is weak, and he's going to have problems against full-sized bigs. But he can score, and between that and putting out the effort, he looks like he'll be valuable off the bench. On second thought, maybe it wasn't so much that he was better than I expected as it was that everyone not named Gasol and Aldridge was so much worse.

I don't even want to talk about Kyle, because the conversations about him are never logical. But I didn't see anything that justified that "point-forward" role people keep trying to put him in. I still think he needs to hit the weights and settle into a backup 4 role.

Most of the other guys looked interchangeable with a bunch of potential D-League call-ups.

Does anyone but me think that the Pistons made an effort not to rub Boban in our faces tonight? Maybe they knew that the Spurs probably have the best idea how to defend him, and didn't want him to have to deal with that before he gets settled in there. But I couldn't help but think about how ugly it could have been with him in the middle tonight.

    Boban's not Mormon, dude.

Anyways, I think you're misrepresenting my views on Jimmer or overstating them at a minimum. And if you don't understand Boban's priors on offense, go to his stats and check out the per 36 from last year. Some will dismiss it was garbage time game; but the reality is he performed at the high level in the meaningful minutes too.

This is the reason I'm in favor of Garino over Forbes. If Andre Roberson can start on a contender then Garino can at least be a backup if he can knockdown open shots.
I agree with you on this one storm... I am partial to Garino and he can shoot if he's open, he's not a total non shooter like Roberson. He's my pick out of the lot.

Still so many looks Forbes has gotten, so I think Spurs are serious about considering him, and he really only hit shots this game. The prior two he was nowhere to be found.

I don't know, but he's not looking that hot if he's not playing in a preseason game. I mean look at Anthony, Deadman, LJC...
