You are absolutely making me But Ayers was eventually overtaken by others in the rotation. I do know his first season with the team he got an extended look, but it became obvious he wasn't going to cut it. Mercifully Baynes was much better. By the way, this was a nice game from Baynesie (no Boban sighting hah?)
I really did not want to see Baynes leave. Pop could count on him to give him some nasty. (I know about Blake, but Griffin has posterized better players than Baynes.) I had mixed emotions about Boban. I would have liked to have seen him with the Spurs for one more year. (I will always believe he very well could have been the difference against OKC if Pop had given him playing time before it was too late.)

Peculiar that Boban didn't play. I fear he would have murdered our bigs - especially Deadman and Lee.

Just finished watching... what's important about this game is that the Spurs are undefeated when Manu plays so far... that a good sign going into the season, tbh...

Boban is like Kyle: King of the Scrubs. Nothing more. Nothing more.

Yup. Can't hide it. Hence the "I plead the 5th!" upon my question.

We are similar on Boban. Baynes could set a mean screen. How you feel about Baynes vs Griffin is comparable to when someone makes a joke over Durant scoring on Anderson. It's what you expect out of an all-star. Those guys are unguardable one on one and ocassionally, if they are not on their A game somone like Anderson can steal their cookie. That is about it. I liked that Baynes had a nice jumper for a center, and he set some mean screens. He really freed ppl up.

/sigh Pop has his work cut out for him.

wont argue based on this game. Kyle is looking at playing time in the face so he better improve is all I am saying. Boban had some nice games for the Spurs man. I don't know. Defense is where he's in trouble, but that he didn't play in a preseason game. . . ah well at least he got paid.

Dedmon looks like he spent the off-season on the couch, not doing anything -- even eating.

He played limited minutes, and you can see the guy grabbing his knees during most deadballs. His legs aren't close to being in shape as his feet are getting beat to spots on the defensive end and he's having to grab, push, pull or foul to play defense.

He's been disappointing from what I've seen.

I'd try to package Kyle + Dedmon (when they can) and a 1st for Noel.

I don't think we will know for certain about either player until December or January.

Kyle needs a shrink and a giant injection of testosterone before he can make anything of himself in the NBA. He's already got too long of a leash from the most patient coach in the league.
Sometimes that patience works, but it's obvious for say, like Simmons. He done, baybay. Unfortunately Kyle is one season behind him.

After the way the Spurs screwed him the first time, I doubt he would be too eager to come back for a second stint. I hated how PATFO dumped him.

Is Boban injured, tbh? Was surprised he didn't play even with Morris fouling out in like 3 mins.

Can always trade him to the Duds since Zaza has been wetting the bed during pre-season.
Haven't followed the Dubs in preseason. Zaza crapping out, eh. Interesting - supposedly Deadman picked the Spurs over them...

I don't think they have been hard on him on offense previously, but they need to. Previously it was playing defense and being solid that got him in the door and that was all he talked about. Now it's got to be other things too. Pop holds all the keys and needs to get on him about that. That is more easily fixable than other things.
