So what has changed? How about an improvement in coaching in that conference. I'm convinced that coaching is vastly more important than Talent. Great coaching can eliminate many issues where talent isn't great. Now I also believe that superior talent will hide coaching faults, to a degree.

Mack Brown was a mediocre coach that brought in superior talent. Nick Saban is a superior coach that also has superior talent. Same with Urban Meyer.

So far Charlie Strong is a horrible coach who has brought in good talent, and the results are what they are. Sumlin is mediocre coach bringing in good talent. Bob Stoops was a great coach, not sure he is anymore. I think he has gotten stale, he used to bring in very good talent, now it's down to just good. I think he is benefiting from the Big 12 sucking.

Tom Herman looks like a great coach bringing in mediocre talent, but doing great things with them. That is what I really want, and that is what I thought we had with Charlie Strong.

If Texas defensive players want to keep their coach, then they need to play like they want to keep him. Winning cures all. You love your coach, you win for him.

This is a good life lesson. You love your family than you need to take care of them, you love your job, do it well. You love your coach help him help you.

It goes in cycles. The blue blood schools like Michigan and Nebraska sooner or later turn it around.
